Job Description:

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. We are looking for a Cloud Solutions Architect to provide enterprise level technical leadership across the Veteran Affairs (VA) multi-cloud architecture. You will shape secure, automated, scalable cloud environments, maintain landing zone architectures, and guide modernization activities across AWS, Azure, and additional CSPs.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • This position is primarily remote, however, the employee MUST live within 60 miles from either the Washington, DC or Falls Church, Virginia office.

  • This position will be required to travel to Veteran Affairs​ facilities nationwide 4x/year.

  • This position is contingent upon contract award, expected to start in November 2026.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

• Leading architecture design and modernization strategies across cloud platforms
• Developing and maintaining landing zones including identity, networking, and security baselines
• Supporting multi-cloud integration, automation, and workflow design
• Providing guidance for IaC, automated provisioning, and approval engines
• Supporting workload portability assessments and cross-cloud migration planning
• Producing architectural documentation and security authorization evidence

• Develop service catalogs including vetted CSP services, approved templates, pricing, and compliance impacts.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Cloud Solutions Architect must have:

Citizenship: US Citizen or Green Card Holder

Clearance: Ability to obtain a Public Trust

Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in IT, CS, Engineering, or similar

Certifications: At least TWO of the following:

----- AWS SA Professional

----- Azure SA Expert

----- OCI Architect Professional

----- Google Professional Cloud Architect

Experience:

----- 8+ years of cloud architecture experience

----- 3+ years supporting large multi-CSP enterprise environments

Technical Skills:

----- Experience with federal cloud modernization

----- Strong understanding of Zero Trust, IAM, networking, and cloud security

----- Hands‑on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep OR similar

Skills & Abilities: Analytical and design-oriented thinking, Excellent communication across technical and leadership stakeholders, Collaborative mindset across engineering and operational functions

The likely salary range for this position is $147,292 - $199,278. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee’s date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees.
