Job Description
Quevera is seeking a highly experienced Cloud Network Engineer (REMOTE) with an active Secret clearance to support the design, implementation, and modernization of secure cloud and hybrid network infrastructures for mission-critical government environments. This is a 100% remote position supporting enterprise cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize secure network architectures that integrate on-premises infrastructure with cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Working closely with cloud engineers, cybersecurity professionals, systems administrators, architects, and program leadership, you will deliver secure, scalable, and resilient networking solutions while ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD), NIST, and federal cybersecurity requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure hybrid and cloud-native network architectures supporting enterprise cloud modernization initiatives.
- Engineer secure connectivity between on-premises environments and cloud platforms using industry best practices.
- Configure and manage cloud networking components including VPCs, VNets, subnets, route tables, gateways, VPNs, load balancers, and network security groups.
- Design, configure, and support enterprise routing and switching infrastructure.
- Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Cisco networking equipment including routers, switches, and VPN technologies.
- Configure, manage, and maintain Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls, security policies, NAT, VPNs, threat prevention, and security zones.
- Implement and maintain secure network architectures utilizing firewalls, IDS/IPS, Zero Trust principles, network segmentation, and network access controls.
- Support enterprise cloud migration efforts, including planning, testing, validation, and production cutovers while minimizing operational disruption.
- Monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance across hybrid cloud environments.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex network performance and connectivity issues.
- Collaborate with cloud engineers, cybersecurity teams, systems administrators, and program leadership to develop secure networking solutions.
- Support vulnerability remediation, security assessments, continuous monitoring, and compliance initiatives.
- Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, implementation guides, standard operating procedures, and technical diagrams.
- Participate in technical planning, engineering reviews, and future cloud networking strategy.
Minimum Requirements
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Minimum 10 years of recent relevant experience, including five (5) years in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Must possess active certification to meet DoD 8140 Work Role 441 – Network Operations Specialist (Advanced Proficiency) requirements. Acceptable certifications include:
- SecurityX (CASP+)
- CCNA
- CCNP Security
- CCSP
- GCED
- GCIA
- GCLD
- GDSA
- Or GFACT
- Advanced experience with cloud network engineering in enterprise or government environments.
- Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco enterprise networking equipment.
- Hands-on experience configuring and administering Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls.
- Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, NAT, QoS, VPN technologies, and network segmentation.
- Experience implementing secure network architectures utilizing firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN technologies, and Zero Trust principles.
- Experience supporting networking services within AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, RMF, and DoD cybersecurity frameworks.
- Experience with cloud automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar).
- Experience with network monitoring and performance analysis tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco DNA Center, or Wireshark.
- Experience implementing secure connectivity solutions between cloud and on-premises environments.
- Experience supporting enterprise network modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Skills
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) cloud environments.
- Familiarity with the DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (CCSRG).
- Preferred certifications include:
- SecurityX (CASP+)
- CCNP Security
- CCSP
- Or GFACT
- Experience implementing Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA)..
- Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical enterprise environments.
