POSITION SUMMARY

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is an essential IT team member, collaborating closely with key stakeholders to ensure robust and efficient cloud infrastructure. This role encompasses designing, developing, and supporting integrated cloud solutions with a primary focus on business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR). Key responsibilities include analyzing existing implementations, planning and deploying BCDR solutions, optimizing performance and security, automating tasks, and providing tailored technical support. This team member actively participates in architectural evaluations and planning sessions aligned with industry standards.

This team member takes initiative, leads by example, and actively seeks opportunities to enhance our cloud infrastructure. They proactively identify areas for improvement and propose solutions. Curious and resourceful, they explore new technologies and stay informed about industry trends.

This is a fully remote role.  To be considered for this role, you must be located in the US or Canada.  


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and implement scalable and secure cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS and Azure.
  • Analyze and review existing cloud implementations to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and developers to understand data processing requirements and plan deployments.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive BCDR solutions to ensure business continuity.
  • Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of cloud environments.
  • Automate cloud infrastructure tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual efforts.
  • Monitor and manage cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues in a timely manner.
  • Take initiative and be self-sufficient in achieving business goals.
  • Coordinate with developers, security, networking, and other IT professionals to ensure cohesive and comprehensive solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
  • Relevant cloud certifications or ability to obtain them within 6 months of hire.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in cloud infrastructure engineering.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and security.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with MS Windows, Linux, and databases.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
