Job Summary

The Intermediate Cloud Engineer is responsible for servicing our software delivery platforms using Microsoft Azure technologies.

 

All activities must be in compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity laws, HIPAA, ERISA, and other regulations, as appropriate.  

Essential Functions

  • Design and deploy infrastructure solutions according to project requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to compile and assess infrastructure needs, and provide efficient cloud-based services and solutions.
  • Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance, capacity, and costs, utilizing appropriate monitoring and alerting tools.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate cloud infrastructure with CI/CD pipelines for seamless application deployment and release management.
  • Maintain technical documentation, including infrastructure diagrams, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to services, network, and performance in collaboration with the support and development teams.
  • Participate in 24x7x365 on-call rotation and provide support during off-hours for production incidents
  • Proactively identify, schedule & perform maintenance items for the operation of our platforms.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities assigned based on business need. 

Minimum Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience on Azure in Software as a Service and Infrastructure as a Services environments
  • 2+ years Windows experience
  • Strong experience with scripting languages
  • Working familiarity with software lifecycle solutions (Azure DevOps, Team Foundation Services)
  • Understanding of cloud network design and best practices
  • Solid understanding of networking principles, including IP addressing, subnetting, DNS, load balancing, and firewall configuration, and self-signed certificates
  • Familiarity with common infrastructure components such as App Services, SQL Server & Redis, Remote Desktop Services
  • Thorough understanding of Azure Active Directory concepts, features, and limitations
  • Must be able to see opportunities for improvement, take ownership and closely work with development teams to drive product improvement
  • Experience in a 24/7 environment
  • Ability to own and drive projects end-end independently 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience automating routine tasks
  • Understanding of Site Reliability 

Working Environment/Physical Demands

  • 100% Remote
  • Long-distance or air travel as needed – not to exceed 5% travel.
