Reports to: VP of Operations
The objective of the Role: The Application Development Cloud Engineer will be responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining modern cloud-native applications for our clients while contributing to the overall engineering excellence of our professional services delivery team. This role focuses on hands-on backend development using modern frameworks and AWS services, with emphasis on building scalable, secure, and maintainable applications. The ideal candidate will combine strong development skills with cloud engineering expertise to deliver high-quality solutions while growing their technical capabilities in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Experience for the Role:
· AWS Developer Associate certification
· Experience with serverless application development using AWS Lambda and related services
· Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation)
· Experience with message queuing and event-driven architectures (SQS, SNS, EventBridge)
· Basic front-end development experience (React, Vue.js, or Angular)
· Understanding of monitoring and logging practices in cloud applications
· Experience with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development
· Knowledge of security best practices for cloud applications
· Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
· Previous experience in a professional services or consulting environment
Responsibilities, including success measures and KPIs:
· Develop backend services and APIs using modern frameworks and cloud-native patterns
· Implement serverless functions and microservices architectures on AWS
· Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established standards
· Participate in code reviews and contribute to development best practices
· Deploy applications using AWS services including Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, and related services
· Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment
· Implement Infrastructure as Code for application infrastructure provisioning
· Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues in cloud environments
· Work closely with senior architects and engineers on complex application development projects
· Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers and other engineers
· Continuously learn new AWS services and development technologies
· Contribute to client application development engagements under senior guidance
· Participate in client technical discussions and requirements gathering sessions
· Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations
· Document technical solutions and provide knowledge transfer to clients when required
