Candescent is currently searching for a Cloud DevOps Engineer to operate, automate, and optimize our cloud platforms to ensure reliability, security, and cost efficiency. This role serves as a critical bridge between development and operations by implementing DevOps best practices, infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines that support highly available, production‑grade fintech systems. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, systems‑minded, and comfortable working across internal teams and managed service partners to ensure cloud platforms align with Candescent’s business goals.
Key Responsibilities and DeliverablesCloud Platform Operations & Reliability- Operate and maintain cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security of production environments
- Perform hands‑on troubleshooting and root cause analysis for cloud and application‑level issues
- Continuously optimize cloud environments for performance, resilience, and cost efficiency
- Implement and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC) to enable consistent, repeatable, and secure cloud deployments
- Build, enhance, and support CI/CD pipelines that accelerate development while maintaining quality and control
- Develop internal tools and automation to reduce manual effort and improve operational reliability
- Ensure cloud environments adhere to security best practices and internal policies
- Partner with security and engineering teams to support secure deployments and access controls
- Monitor and optimize cloud spend, providing visibility and recommendations to balance cost and performance
- Bridge development and operations teams to support smooth application delivery and production readiness
- Direct and collaborate with managed services providers to ensure operational execution aligns with Candescent business objectives
- Contribute to platform standards, documentation, and operational runbooks
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant
- Demonstrated experience operating and automating cloud platforms in production environments
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure‑as‑code concepts
- Hands‑on experience troubleshooting cloud infrastructure and application performance issues
- Ability to translate operational needs into scalable, automated solutions
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering, operations, and external partners
- Experience supporting fintech, SaaS, or highly regulated environments
- Exposure to cloud cost optimization and financial governance practices
- Experience working with or leading managed services teams
- Passion for automation, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement
