The Clinician provides case management and ongoing clinical services to the CBAT youth and families at Walker’s Needham Campus; provide clinical consultation to direct care and educational staff; provide ongoing assessment, treatment planning, goal focused treatment, and discharge planning for assigned youth. Must be committed to child-centered, family-focused, culturally competent care and strength-based treatment. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Under the guidance of the CBAT Program Director, work to ensure that all clinical services in the CBAT program are aligned with the agency mission and core values. This includes but is not limited to services that are trauma informed, relationship based, family involved, developmentally focused, competence centered, and ecologically oriented. 
  • Commit to the use of evidence-based practices to provide quality clinical treatment to youth and their families, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. 
  • Manage a caseload of up to 5 youth, including providing individual therapy and family therapy as needed, as well as ongoing written assessments and documentation to be completed in a timely manner. This documentation includes treatment plans, recommendations, and discharge summaries for assigned youth. 
  • Interface with outside systems including DCF, DMH, LEAs, CBHI, and insurance providers, maintain consistent and professional communication and complete documentation of all contact and insurance authorizations. 
  • Coordinate and facilitate systems meetings for youth on caseload. 
  • Work collaboratively with the CBAT team to develop and implement clinical services to CBAT youth in the milieu, including conducting group therapy on the units.  
  • Provide clinical consultation to direct care staff, crisis support to youth, and coverage on the floor as needed. 
  • Participate in required trainings and additional professional development opportunities when offered. 
  • Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and staff meetings. 
  • Assist with CBAT admissions as needed. 
  • Serve as Clinician On-Call for the campus on a rotating basis. 
  • Additional duties as assigned. 

Skills and Abilities

  • Must be able to successfully pass and apply Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training
  • Must be able to successfully complete First Aid/CPR training
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and make safe decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Capacity to work effectively in a stressful and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to learn, retain, and apply principles taught in training and supervision
  • Physical stamina to participate in activities with children
  • Ability to stand, walk, and run for extended periods, perform frequent bending, stooping, stretching, lifting, sitting, stairs, typing, and looking at a computer screen
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer experience is required
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow through with multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team, including during times of high stress
  • Ability to transport clients in company vehicles

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, with flexibility for evenings and weekends based on program and operational needs

 

Qualifications

Education and Certifications


Required:

  • Master’s degree in relevant discipline (Social Work, Psychology, Counseling).

Preferred:

  • Clinical licensure (LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) 

 

Experience

Preferred:

  • Experience with goal oriented clinical work with youth and families.
  • Experience with the use of evidence-based clinical practices. 
  • Experience with work with youth in a similar setting.

Other Requirements:

  • Successfully complete all background check suitability requirements
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Valid MA driver’s license preferred

Supervision:

Reports to: CBAT Program Director

Supervises: Clinicsal interns as assigned
