About Sprinter Health

Sprinter Health is an innovative healthcare startup dedicated to delivering high-quality, accessible in-home and virtual care across the country. We combine clinicians, technologists, and operators to build the infrastructure needed for a future of healthcare untethered — expanding access, lowering costs, and improving patient outcomes.

Position Overview

As Director of Virtual Care, you will play a pivotal role in scaling and leading our virtual care services. You will oversee our large and scaling virtual care NP workforce, ensuring clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, efficient workflows, and an outstanding patient experience. This role blends strategic leadership, operational oversight, and hands-on clinical guidance as we expand virtual primary care services nationwide.

This position is remote, with occasional travel (less than 10%) as needed.

Virtual Care Operations & Clinical Leadership

  • Lead the development, implementation, and management of virtual care programs both existing and new (e.g., virtual wellness visits, remote assessments, etc.).
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics for virtual care delivery (utilization, patient outcomes, satisfaction, documentation quality, compliance).
  • Oversee clinical workflows, scheduling, capacity planning, and provider coverage across virtual care operations.
  • Ensure state and federal compliance (scope of practice, telehealth regulations, HIPAA, etc.) and maintain licensure standards across multi-state operations where applicable.

Team Management & Provider Oversight

  • Manage, mentor, and support a remote team of Managers and Nurse Practitioners delivering virtual care.
  • Ensure adherence to accurate documentation practices, HCC coding standards, and risk-adjustment requirements across virtual care services.
  • Oversee provider onboarding, ongoing training, performance assessments, documentation quality, risk-adjustment or coding standards (if applicable), and professional development.
  • Facilitate regular 1:1s, team meetings, feedback, and coaching to maintain high clinical standards and team engagement.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Compliance, Operations, and Clinical Leadership to address clinical issues, escalations, and continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Operations, Product & Technology, Data & Analytics, and Customer Success teams to optimize virtual care workflows, influence telehealth platform enhancements, and integrate virtual services within Sprinter Health’s broader service offerings.
  • Use data-driven insights to inform improvements, scale virtual care delivery, and support business growth.
  • Partner with Business Development / Strategy teams to support expansion of virtual care models and markets.

Program Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Design and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), clinical protocols, and best practices for virtual care delivery.
  • Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives, root-cause analyses for incidents, and corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Stay current with telehealth industry trends, best practices, and regulatory environment to ensure Sprinter Health remains at the forefront of virtual care innovation.

Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license (multi-state or compact license preferred).
  • Board Certification as Nurse Practitioner.
  • Minimum of 8 years of clinical NP experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership or supervisory role managing NPs or other advanced practice providers.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing virtual care, telehealth, home-based care, or value-based care — ideally with exposure to remote/virtual primary care or chronic care management.
  • Strong clinical judgment, commitment to patient-centered care, and ability to lead providers delivering care remotely.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfort using digital tools (EMRs, telehealth platforms, dashboards, mobile devices) for charting, scheduling, and care coordination.
  • Proven ability to lead remote teams, manage provider performance, enforce compliance, and mentor clinical staff in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field.
  • Experience designing and scaling virtual care programs or telehealth services.
  • Familiarity with quality metrics and performance standards relevant to virtual primary care.
  • Experience with care coordination, risk adjustment, chronic disease management, preventive care.
  • Strong data literacy — ability to leverage analytics to drive quality improvements and operational efficiency.
