About EnergyHub

EnergyHub empowers utilities and their customers to create a clean, distributed energy future. We help consumers turn their smart thermostats, EVs, batteries, and other products into virtual power plants that keep the grid stable and enable higher penetration of solar and wind power.

About the Opportunity

EnergyHub’s Client Success team launches and operates best-in-class programs for electric utilities, helping them address grid challenges by engaging customers with connected devices.

As a Client Success Manager, helping our clients achieve their goals is your mandate. You will own the client relationship end-to-end, including managing the launch of our platform and programs, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and serving as a trusted partner to your clients and our sales, product, engineering and marketing teams.

This is an ideal job for someone who has a passion for (and experience working with) clients and software products, exercises sound business judgment and possesses a keen commercial sense, and is an effective multi-tasker with great attention to detail. They’re also a quick learner and self-starter with the ability to communicate a variety of data driven messages to varying audiences.

Main Responsibilities: What you’ll do

  • Be a Client Success advocate: Be the project manager for program launches and manage multi-faceted programs with device partners, clients and internal teams. Ensure day-to-day program operations are seamless and client goals and needs are top of mind for the organization.
  • Be a project management expert: Design an efficient program structure that meets the needs of many co-ops that exist within a larger parent organization. Create and enforce a standardized process for the repeatable, scalable organization of a complex utility program structure. Maintain efficiency by creating playbooks and other education tools that allow for a level of service to be maintained across multiple stakeholders.
  • Be a trusted advisor who helps clients achieve their goals: Manage internal expectations as well as those of your clients and prioritize program tasks using business judgment to balance internal objectives with client goals. Spend time understanding clients’ objectives and guiding clients through key decisions to design programs that support these targets. Partner with Sales to support successful renewals and expansions in your clients’ accounts. Creatively problem solve when difficult situations arise and resolve operational challenges. Since you will be coordinating across a complex array of stakeholders to bring common themes together and managing multiple utility relationships simultaneously, previous client-facing work experience is required.
  • Be an effective communicator and storyteller: Analyze and present key results, facilitate meetings, and deliver nuanced technical and data driven messages to clients. Maintain consistent and frequent communication with an array of stakeholders including clients and device partners to ensure efficient program implementation, review ongoing needs, and provide timely solutions and recommendations to help achieve program success.
  • Be a product and service expert: Develop a comprehensive knowledge of demand management, services & offerings, DERs, and the drivers of program success. Foster a deep understanding of the product, service offerings and functionality to effectively communicate capabilities to clients, shape program design for a variety of DER asset classes and provide training to client program teams. Advocate for the product development needed to handle the needs of a smaller distribution utility structure.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience: What you need

  • This role will require a flexible travel schedule.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to describe complex and technical topics in an engaging, succinct manner
  • Demonstrated success working with enterprise level utility clients, or adjacent industries
  • Strong project management experience with the ability to multitask, hit deadlines, and think through risk and dependencies
  • An analytical, yet creative and curious mind, with a confident approach to numbers and spreadsheets
  • The ability to build trust and outstanding client and partner relationships
  • Experience collaborating with product teams to the benefit of the client and long-term vision of the organization
  • Good judgment in a business context
  • Experience working with a team in a cross-functional, fast paced work environment
  • a BS or BA degree
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in technology services or customer success -- strong preference for experience within a SaaS or enterprise software-related field
  • Experience working in or with renewable energy, utilities, and grid services or adjacent industries required
  • Comfortable with public speaking. Experience running trainings or education programs is a plus
  • Willing and available to be on a call several weeks per year for after-hours emergency client escalations
