Viget is an independent digital agency that has been designing and building digital products and platforms since 1999. Our culture is ideal for lifelong learners seeking a variety of meaningful work, supportive collaboration with positive teammates, and a healthy work/life balance. We work from four offices (hybrid) and remote locations throughout the U.S., and enjoy a proven cadence of virtual and in-person meetings and retreats to build comradery and stay connected. We work with early-stage start-ups (like SpectrumAI), as well as established non-profits (like World Wildlife Fund), and for-profits (like ESPN).

At Viget, we don’t have “sales people.”  We all sell Viget all the time, mostly by doing great work and sharing what we know.  Our Client Strategists are responsible for doing the initial research, critical thinking, strategic planning, and relationship-building to ensure every client engagement adds to that growing body of great work.  Each opportunity is a new problem to solve, a new strategy to develop—and requires a novel and highly consultative approach.  As a Client Strategist, you will work with some of the most talented designers and developers in the industry and on behalf of a wide range of clients.  You’ll both ask and answer hard questions, define creative solutions, and be a key part of the team that delivers results.

Our Client Strategists:

  • Review incoming project requests, do initial research, and talk to prospective clients virtually or in-person. Optimism, energy, and quick response time are essential every day.
  • Read RFPs, conduct strategy calls, and write engaging proposals and custom project plans based on these discussions. You need to be a solid writer with a knack for being both well-structured and concise, as well as persuasive and punchy.
  • Run the pitch process, collaborating with designers, copywriters, and technologists to develop a practical, yet ambitious, vision for a new client engagement.
  • Give presentations that are tailored to a specific client’s needs, that resonate with decision-makers, and that pique the interest of results-driven stakeholders.
  • Love research, prep work, and equipping the team with data points that will help them be equally impressive during pre-sales discussions.
  • Enjoy the negotiation process that comes with winning new business—striking the right balance of scope, schedule, and price to close a deal.
  • Treat all client relationships with a long-term perspective. Many of our larger projects began as small, short-term engagements.
  • Get things done. No matter what you're doing, you take pride in your work and in your ability to hit deadlines. You enjoy responsibility and working hard.

The ideal candidate will also:

  • Think like a consultant, not a salesperson. You are logical, intelligent, and enjoy solving problems. You’re naturally persuasive, but not sales-y.
  • Be entrepreneurial and curious. You’re eager to learn about new industries and businesses every day.
  • Understand how the Internet works and demonstrate a love of technology. You’re an early adopter, but not just a passive consumer of new apps: you tinker, experiment, and learn how things work.
  • Understand business and have a track record for finding business opportunities. Even as a kid, your lemonade stand always turned the highest profit.
  • Be extremely well-organized. You can handle several projects at once without anything slipping through the cracks.
  • Have 3-7 years post-grad experience (ideally) in a consulting, startup, or digital agency role.
  • Deeply value coworkers’ expertise and talents, realizing that those talents are Viget’s greatest asset (and essential to the execution of your ideas and strategies).
  • Stand out as an exceptional communicator—a great writer, a confident speaker, and a keen listener.

Everyone at Viget:

  • Embodies our core values of integrity, work ethic, collaboration, creativity, and lifelong learning.
  • Values mentorship, learning, and sharing knowledge.
  • Writes and speaks clearly and effectively when collaborating with teammates and clients.
  • Believes in and supports our commitment to building a diverse and inclusive company.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Annual base salary of $70,000-$100,000 (mid level) or $90,000-$120,000 (senior) per year depending on location, skills, and experience
  • In addition, a modest variable comp plan based on individual and company revenue performance
  • Additional comp available via spot performance bonuses and new hire referrals
  • 401(k) retirement plan matching up to 4%
  • 100% company-paid health and dental coverage for you and your family
  • Stipends for wellness (apps, gyms, etc.) and connectivity (mobile phone or home internet)
  • 15 days PTO (20 after 2 years), 9 paid holidays, and 2 community service days per year
  • Up to $2,000/year in conference and training (professional development) budget

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
