Description

We’re building ‘the’ Teaching Hospital for pediatric therapy — a category of one by driving excellence in outcomes, developing clinicians, building payer trust, and embedding systems across what we do.

Position Summary:

As our Client Safety & Risk Manager, you'll be the architect and guardian of our enterprise-wide safety operating system. You're establishing the policies, protocols, and safeguards that protect children and staff. You're training to build safety culture. And you're coordinating across clinical, operations, HR, and leadership teams to close gaps and continuously strengthen our infrastructure.

This role matters deeply at Bierman. Safety is foundational to everything we do that allows children to thrive, families to trust us, and our team members to do their best work. If you're the kind of leader who thinks systems, builds scalable processes and gets genuinely excited about safety standards, we have an exciting opportunity at Bierman Autism Centers!

What You'll Own
  • Safety System Development

You'll design and document our comprehensive client safety operating system, including policies and protocols covering client interaction and protection standards, supervision expectations, bathrooming and personal care procedures, elopement and transport protocols, environmental safety, visibility and monitoring, mandated reporting, and incident escalation frameworks. You'll translate safety principles into clear, actionable guidance that clinical and operations teams can implement consistently across 30+ locations.

  • Implementation & Quality Assurance

You'll drive consistency across all centers through systematic audits, protocol reviews, spot checks, and trend analysis. You'll develop an enterprise safety scorecard that gives leadership visibility into safety performance, recurring risks, and emerging concerns. You'll identify early warning indicators and use data to continuously strengthen our protocols. This is hands-on work—you'll visit centers, review documentation, ask questions, and work collaboratively to close gaps.

  • Training & Safety Culture

You'll develop and lead recurring safety training, onboarding content, scenario-based refreshers, and leadership education that brings safety concepts to life through real examples and relevant scenarios. You'll ensure that safety stays top-of-mind across the organization.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership

You'll work closely with clinical, operations, HR, and compliance teams to strengthen safety systems and accountability processes. You'll serve as a trusted advisor on safety and risk.

Requirements

You're a Great Fit If You Have:

  • Deep operational expertise in healthcare, behavioral health, ABA, quality/safety management, or risk management—ideally 5–10+ years in roles building or managing enterprise-wide systems
  • A systems-oriented mindset paired with attention to detail: you think about how things work at scale, but you also care about implementation on the ground
  • Proven experience developing and implementing enterprise-wide policies, operational standards, audit processes, or safety/risk management systems
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement
  • Excellent communication skills—you can translate complex safety concepts into clear guidance, train effectively, and work collaboratively across different teams
  • Sound judgment and composure in navigating sensitive, high-stakes situations—you think thoughtfully and make decisions with care
  • A proactive, self-directed work style—you identify what needs to be done and take ownership without waiting to be told
  • A genuine commitment to the mission: you understand that safety protects children and families, and that's what drives your work

Preferred qualifications (but not required):

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Behavioral Health, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Public Health, or related field
  • Experience in multi-site healthcare, behavioral health, ABA, or pediatric environments
  • Experience leading incident management or investigations
  • Familiarity with pediatric behavioral health, ABA operations, or child-serving environments
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance, licensing, or regulatory requirements

Why You’ll Love Bierman:

  • Mission That Matters: Everything we do in marketing directly supports our mission of transforming the lives of children with autism and their families. You’ll feel that every day.

About us:

We were established in 2006 with a simple focus on providing excellent therapy for children with autism and building a unique and fun environment for team members and children to thrive. We live by the culture we’ve created and our core values: to create a fun and stimulating learning environment, empower individuals and treat them with kindness, integrity, and respect, never sit still, achieve, and continuously raise the bar, team above the individual, build a sustainable organization that leaves a meaningful impact on lives, and adhere to our core principles without compromise. Together, we change lives.

Our Story: A Legacy of Progress, Fueled by Play

In 2006, Bierman Autism Centers began with a simple dream: to empower children with autism to thrive. We believed in the power of letting kids be kids and initially offered in-home care to foster a comforting and familiar environment.

We were driven by three core beliefs: achieving remarkable progress with children, creating a great team that enjoys working together, and building a workplace that fosters internal career paths and growth for our team members.

Our dedication to progress led us to a pivotal moment. Recognizing the potential of center-based care, we opened our first center in Indiana in 2010. This wasn’t just about location; it shifted our philosophy. Centers allowed us to create consistent, nurturing environments tailored to each child’s needs.

This shift became the cornerstone of our success. Today, Bierman Autism Centers are beacons of innovative care across Arizona, Indiana, Massachusetts, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, and Rhode Island. We offer ABA therapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Diagnostic Services within center-based settings designed for the comprehensive development of our children.

Bierman Autism Centers values diversity in the workplace. The company provides equal opportunity for employment and promotion to all qualified employees and applicants on the basis of experience, training, education, and ability to do the available work without regard to race, religion, color, age, sex/gender, sexual orientation, national origin, gender identity, disability, marital status, veteran status, genetic information, ancestry, or any other status protected by law.

Furthermore, Bierman Autism Centers is committed to providing an equal opportunity workplace that is free of discrimination and harassment based on national origin, race, color, religion, gender, ancestry, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, marital status, veteran status, genetic information, or any other status protected by law.

As an equal opportunity employer, Bierman Autism Centers does not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities. If you require a reasonable accommodation as a candidate for employment, please inform a member of the Talent Acquisition team.
