Description:

The Client Advisory Intern will work alongside Client Advisory and Wealth Advisory professionals serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families. Throughout the internship, the intern will gain exposure to Bessemer Trust’s integrated approach to wealth management, including investment management, wealth planning, tax and estate planning, client service, and new business development.

The internship will provide hands-on experience in areas including asset allocation modeling, investment portfolio analysis, fixed income portfolio analysis, tax transition portfolio analysis, client communication, cash management, reporting, and client and prospective client presentations. The internship will culminate in a capstone presentation to senior management focused on bringing together the various aspects of wealth advisory.

The Client Advisory Intern will also be trained in the use of proprietary and licensed software and databases.


Wealth Advisory Responsibilities:

  • Support the Wealth Advisory team with reporting, analysis, and presentation requests for prospective clients
  • Work with the Quantitative Analysis group to provide the Wealth Advisory team with portfolio analyses and proprietary models
  • Collaborate with Investment, Tax, Estate Planning, and other professionals across the firm to develop a thorough understanding of prospective clients’ portfolios, goals, and broader financial situations
  • Assist with the preparation of materials used in prospective client meetings and presentations
  • Participate in individual and group projects designed to provide exposure to Bessemer’s comprehensive approach to wealth management
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Client Advisory Responsibilities:

  • Support Client Advisory teams in preparing for client meetings and responding to day-to-day client service needs
  • Assist with routine communications and service requests involving clients and their outside advisors
  • Perform cash management functions and assist with the processing of payments and other account activity
  • Prepare customized client reports, schedules, analyses, and presentation materials
  • Work with Investment, Tax, Estate Planning, and other specialists across the firm to support comprehensive advice for clients
  • Gain exposure to the management of complex, multigenerational wealth and the coordination required across a client’s broader advisory team
  • Assist the Client Advisory team with individual and group projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • In pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree (rising senior required)
  • Strong interest in financial services; exposure to Private Wealth Management, Investment Management, Investment Banking, or a related field preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Intellectual curiosity and an enthusiasm for learning
  • Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Professionalism and discretion when working with confidential information
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation: $40-$45 per hour depending on grade level and work experience
