Location - Remote (based in major city)

Type - Full-time

Compensation - $85,000 – $105,000 base
You are WeRoad on the ground in the US. We grow city by city — large metros full of young adults — and you turn each new one into a living WeRoad community. Not from a laptop: at run clubs, gyms, and coworking happy hours. You launch each city and write the playbook for the next.

What you'll own
  • Field events & activations: source venues, partners, and moments worth showing up for, and run them end to end (logistics, staffing, follow-up).

  • Guerrilla marketing: plan and execute low-cost, high-attention guerrilla moments that fit WeRoad's culturally relevant voice.

  • Community relationships: build real, two-way relationships with the communities in each launch city — run clubs, cycling and yoga groups, gyms, coworking spaces, alumni and young-professional networks — and turn them into recurring WeRoad touchpoints.

  • Group Leader support on the ground: be the local glue for the Group Leaders in each market — help them activate their personal networks, host meetups, and turn their trips into local word of mouth.

  • Opportunity sourcing & prioritization: continuously scout opportunities (events, partnerships, sponsorships, out-of-home placements), size them, and prioritize ruthlessly against expected return. You decide what's worth our time and money in each city, and you defend the call with data.

  • Measurement: track every activity against attendance, leads generated, and downstream PAX. If you can't measure it, you flag it before we spend.

What you'll be measured on

  • City-attributable PAX in your launch markets (the north star).

  • Qualified leads and pipeline generated from field activity.

  • Cost per attendee and cost per lead across your activations.

  • Active local community touchpoints and Group Leader engagement in each launch city.

  • Number of partnerships and events activated and passengers attributable to these activities

What you bring
  • 3+ years in field marketing, community building, brand activation, events, or local growth — ideally for a consumer brand, hospitality concept, or experience-led startup.

  • An instinct for new cities: drop you into an unfamiliar metro and you map its scenes, venues, and people within weeks.

  • Self-direction. You operate without daily oversight and bring structure to your own week.

  • Comfort with numbers — you can build a simple cost-per-lead case and kill your own ideas when the math doesn't work.

  • Hustle and taste in equal measure: you can pull off a scrappy guerrilla moment and have it feel on-brand, not gimmicky.

  • A community person at heart - you love helping people connect in real life and are genuinely excited about WeRoad mission and product

  • Authorized to work in the US; able to work evenings and weekends when the city is out.

Nice to have

  • Existing relationships with community organizers, venues, or creators in major US metros.

  • Experience launching something local from zero.

  • Background in travel, fitness, or membership/community businesses.

What we offer:

  • 401(k) with employer matching

  • Health & Dental insurance

  • $1,400/year travel discount in our WeRoad trips!

  • Trust-based holidays – Performance over hours. We recommend 4 weeks per year.

  • New parent support – $3,600/year gross for 3 years after birth or adoption (prorated if your child is under 3 when you join).

  • Performance-based bonus – Discretionary, based on your results and company performance.

  • Extra benefits – $1,000 wedding bonus, one-off bonus at 5 years, and ongoing learning opportunities.

About WeRoad: Connecting People, Culture and Stories

WeRoad is a tech-enabled group-travel company built on one idea: the people you travel with matter more than the place. We put small groups of solo travelers on curated 7- to 10-day trips, led by trained Group Leaders, and they come home with a new set of friends. Founded in Italy, now ~€130M+ in revenue across Europe, we're launching in the United States with Austin as our first city and a simple operating principle: one city, one product, one customer, done exceptionally well before we scale.

We don't act like a tour operator and we don't want to be mistaken for one. No palm trees, no stock-photo sunsets, no “book now” shouting. Our voice is friendly, a little ironic, and human — we earn attention by being culturally relevant, not by chasing people with ads. If “we attract, we don't chase” resonates with you, keep reading.

Sounds exciting? Check out our Culture Manifesto! 👥

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
