DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Identify the key credit risk factors associated with clients, transactions, and industry sub-sectors across an assigned portfolio. Develop and articulate a dynamic, forward-looking risk assessment of client companies, transactions, competitive threats, industry and other factors. Participate in client due diligence meetings. Attend client, bank, and other meetings to develop a better understanding of client companies, management teams, and industry sectors. Use financial models to incorporate the impact of forward-looking risk assessment on key value drivers. Develop and recommend appropriate credit structures relative to risk assessment. Prepare and review credit approval materials, ensure all credit risk policies are followed, and present and recommend credits for approval at the appropriate level. Analyze and negotiate covenants and other terms and conditions as part of a deal team. Review and negotiate legal documentation to ensure terms are appropriate. Ensure risk ratings are accurate and reflect a current forward-looking view of the client. Provide early identification and proactive management of deteriorating credits and other problem situations. Analyze, prepare, and present for approval all required waivers, amendments, and extensions. Prepare and present annual portfolio review material to senior management. Assist in training and developing analysts. Work closely with analysts and middle office and data teams to ensure accuracy of credit system data. Present new transactions as well as quarterly and annual portfolio monitoring metrics to senior management. Use corporate finance and cash flow modeling techniques to determine an existing or potential client's creditworthiness. Negotiate ISDAs and legal credit agreements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as CIB Risk, Wholesale Credit Risk, Senior Credit Associate, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Management, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as CIB Risk, Wholesale Credit Risk, Senior Credit Associate, or related occupation. The employer will accept pre- or post-Bachelor's degree experience.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Bank ACH products including cash concentration accounts, federal wires, Intraday and overnight limits; corporate finance; financial modeling including Cash flow models and market dynamics; Financial statements and accounting; Interpreting financial statements including Balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements of corporate clients; Documentation related to ISDAs and credit agreements; Derivative products and documentation including interest rate, currency, and commodity derivatives, including swaps, forwards, futures, and options; GAAP accounting. The employer will accept pre- or post-Bachelor's degree experience with the required skills.
Job Location: 270 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10017. This position requires up to 10% domestic travel.
Full-Time. Salary: $160,000 - $240,000 per year.
