About the Role:

Our Charge Off Recovery Collectors are responsible for working accounts after they have reached a charged off status. Beyond that, there are three courses of action, which could include payment plans, partnering with third parties, or pursuing legal action. These individuals are working with those accounts to see what the best plan of action is and conducting a variety of tasks to accomplish their goals while providing best in class service to our members, third party vendors, and our internal partners here at Connexus.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Contact members by telephone, mail, and electronic communications in an effort to collect on written off loans and accounts.

  • Process communications including but not limited to DSA agreements, disputes, and cease and desist requests.

  • Perform Skip Tracing efforts to locate members and assets.

  • Maintain an accurate and detailed written record of any and all communications made regarding member accounts, to include but not limited to; account status, third party action, repossession, bankruptcy, etc.

  • Address any queries, concerns, or disputes raised by debtors related to outstanding debts, ensuring effective resolution, and maintaining professionalism.

  • Respond to third party communication and prepare information required by collection agencies and attorneys. Including reviewing files to approve legal action.

  • Prepare regular reports on collection activities and account statuses.

  • Assign accounts and update account actions with third party collection agencies and attorneys. This may include filing estate claims.

Requirements:

  • This position is Remote.

  • 1+ years prior collections, legal collections, repossession and/or post charge off recovery experience is Required.

  • Responsible individual who is able to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Independently negotiate viable payment plans with Members based on standardized processes and in non-standard situations.

  • Ability to identify and escalate legal concerns and/or reputational risk within the collection process of each account.

  • Knowledge and understanding of CFPB, FDCPA, WCA (preferred), and any other debt collection regulations.

  • Knowledge and understanding of charge off, repossession, money judgments, estate and probate filings, and debt consolidation companies.

  • Excellent verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills, along with the ability to remain assertive and confident when dealing with difficult situations.

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
