The ideal candidate has been the person doing the work on OCM engagements at a consulting firm - building the stakeholder maps, writing the communication plans, running the training sessions - and is ready to step into a role where they shape how a growing company approaches change management from the ground up.

What You Will Do:

Client-Facing / Billable (~ 70%)

  • Deliver OCM workstreams on active client engagements: change impact assessments, stakeholder mapping, communications planning, training strategy and delivery, go-live readiness

  • Facilitate discovery and readiness workshops with client stakeholders to assess organizational preparedness for data platform and AI adoption

  • Develop persona-based messaging that translates technical changes into business-relevant language for different audiences

  • Build and deliver training and enablement programs for end users adopting new data tools and analytics platforms

  • Support client-side sponsors and managers in understanding their role in driving adoption

  • Define adoption metrics and track progress against them throughout engagements

  • Operate as an embedded member of cross-functional delivery teams alongside SunnyData engineers and architects

Internal / Practice-Building (~30%)

  • Develop reusable OCM templates and toolkits: stakeholder maps, communication templates, readiness checklists, training outlines, change impact assessment frameworks

  • Help codify lightweight OCM activities into SunnyData's standard delivery methodology so every engagement gets baseline change coverage

  • Support Account Executives and Client Principals with qualifying questions and talking points to identify OCM opportunities during sales cycles

  • Contribute OCM scoping and language to proposals and SOWs with guidance from delivery leadership

  • Document engagement lessons learned to refine the offering over time

  • Help educate delivery leads and project managers on recognizing and escalating change-related risks

Required Experience:

  • 4-6 years in organizational change management, with at least 2 years delivering OCM in a consulting or professional services setting (not purely internal corporate change roles)

  • Direct experience executing change workstreams on technology implementations - data platforms, analytics tools, or enterprise software

  • Track record of building OCM deliverables (change strategies, comms plans, stakeholder analyses, training materials) with limited oversight

  • Experience facilitating workshops and working sessions with mid-level and senior client stakeholders

  • Comfort working on technical delivery teams without needing everything translated - you can pick up enough context from engineers and architects to do your job effectively

  • Strong written communication skills, particularly the ability to produce clear, audience-appropriate materials quickly

Preferred Experience:

  • Any exposure to Databricks, Snowflake, or modern cloud data platforms

  • Experience with AI/ML adoption challenges - helping business users understand and trust model outputs

  • Prosci, ACMP, or equivalent certification

  • Experience contributing to proposals or supporting business development at a consulting firm

  • Familiarity with distributed or multi-geography teams

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Education, Communications, Psychology, Engineering, Business/Administration, MBA, Information Technology, Communication, or related field or equivalent

Travel:

  • Willing and able to travel depending on client needs.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
