As a CFO Advisor within our Outsourced Accounting Advisory team, you will work closely with our Architecture, Engineering & Construction industry clients’ executive leadership, including CEOs, board members, and stakeholders to provide high-impact financial leadership and strategic direction. You will play a key role in empowering organizations to achieve financial clarity, optimize performance, and confidently pursue growth through financial insight and action.

This role requires deep financial expertise, strategic foresight, and strong interpersonal skills to guide clients through complex challenges and opportunities. You’ll deliver value through collaborative partnerships and play an integral part in building a world-class financial advisory practice.

This position reports directly to the CEO, reflecting its strategic importance to the firm. The long-term goal of the role is to grow SN’s CFO Advisory practice by leveraging the expertise of internal team members and expanding the service offering to meet client demand. You’ll lead the development of scalable solutions, mentor team members, and play a key role in shaping the future of financial advisory at SN.

What you’ll do at SN:
  • Embrace the SN Way by becoming our clients’ most trusted advisor, creating delight, and meeting service excellence standards
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks
  • Provide strategic guidance on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow optimization, capital allocation, and investment decisions
  • Lead and support clients through M&A activity including due diligence, financial modeling, and deal evaluation
  • Deliver timely, accurate financial reports that provide meaningful insight to clients' leadership teams and boards
  • Improve financial systems, processes, and controls for greater accuracy, compliance, and efficiency
  • Develop financial strategies aligned to long-term business goals and help clients evaluate and navigate strategic initiatives
  • Communicate financial performance and insights effectively to stakeholders, including executives, investors, and partners
  • Assess financial risk and develop mitigation strategies
  • Mentor internal team members with potential to grow into CFO Advisory roles
  • Collaborate with other SN service lines to expand and integrate financial advisory offerings
  • Play a key leadership role in growing the CFO Advisory practice through business development, talent development, and service innovation
What you may have done before:
  • Worked as a CFO or leader in finance at an architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) firm
  • Worked in a CFO advisory position at a professional services firm servicing the AEC or professional services industry
What it takes to be a CFO Advisory Consultant:
  • 8+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including roles such as CFO, Controller, or Finance Director
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA preferred
  • Extensive experience in financial planning, reporting, modeling, and strategic decision-making
  • Experience with the AEC industry is strongly preferred for this role
  • Experience supporting or leading M&A, ownership transitions, or investment strategy
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial topics to non-financial audiences
  • Proven ability to lead initiatives, influence outcomes, and collaborate across business functions
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced virtual environment while mentoring others and driving results

Salary: The salary range for this position is an estimate of $180,000 - $220,000. A final compensation offer within this range will be based on factors including an individual’s skill sets, experience, knowledge, licensure and certifications, and geography. This role is also eligible for business development incentives in recognition of contributions to firm growth.
