We're looking for a Certification Project Engineer HVAC and Refrigeration who can help us connect with customers, build relationships and continue to help make the world a safer place.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities:
- Manage projects in the Appliances, HVAC and Lighting (AHL) segment (focus on HVAC and Refrigeration), develop a preliminary plan of investigation, and determine project specifications such as effort needed, time, test plan and product sample requirements by analyzing client input, available supplemental data, and product construction. Projects may include occasional travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites.
- Communicate with clients to discuss technical issues, explain UL procedures and requirements, convey project related effort and negotiate completion date and sample requirements. Act to address client concerns and to resolve client issues. Provide technical assistance to clients in reference to product inspection and follow-up services.
- Coordinate laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians, scheduling and reviewing work of Laboratory Technicians and support staff and establishing completion dates. Coordinate administrative aspects of project management.
- Communicate project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports.
QUALIFICATIONS

- University or technician degree in Energy Technology, Electrical- or Mechanical Engineering
- Able to build rapport and communicate effectively with clients and UL colleagues
- Willingness to learn and develop technical and personal competence
- Good project management, record and time keeping skills
- Client-centric, agile, collaborative, taking pride and striving for excellence
- Ability to work in a multi-national and cross-cultural environment
- Very good level of English language
- Willing to travel occasionally across Europe (up to 25-30%)
Desirable skills:
- Experience with IEC/ UL standards, especially 60335
