Position Summary

 

The Category Manager is responsible for assortment planning and analytics for e.l.f. Cosmetics. The role will use data and analytics to identify business opportunities & drive growth for the company. The Category Manager will work with the e.l.f. sales team along with cross functional partners to ensure the most productive assortment is presented to the Walmart team. The role will also work closely on Mod execution. Although this role will not execute the Mods they will be responsible for ensuring the assortment and merchandising meets company standards. Additional responsibilities include evaluating the effectiveness of on-shelf and promotional efforts both pre- and post-product launches and ensuring end-to-end accuracy on key deliverables, as well as, developing a strong partnership with the Walmart Merchant and Category teams.

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in data analytics with high attention to detail with a good understanding of the retail landscape and Walmart’s internal systems. Effective communication skills are necessary in this role, as this is a customer facing position. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a strong competency in Microsoft Office, most specifically Excel and Powerpoint. It is also important to be a strong self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work efficiently in an extremely fast paced environment while managing your time effectively. Finally, experience with syndicated data such as Circana (IRI/NPD), Neilsen, as well as experience in consumer goods categories with high SKU counts, are required. A passion for and experience in the Beauty Category is a definite plus!

Responsibilities

  • Development and upkeep of weekly reports and tracking
  • Identifying e.l.f. growth opportunities through data and analytics
  • Modular execution of planograms in Blue Yonder for e.l.f. Cosmetics
  • Build strong relationships with the Walmart merchant and category team
  • Ad hoc reporting and analytics that drive actionable insights
  • Ability to use data-driven insights to make recommendations for specific modular plans and present plans internally and externally

Requirements

  • Experience with Walmart systems, including Retail Link, Luminate, and Blue Yonder Space Planning is a must
  • Intermediate to Advanced usage of Microsoft Office especially Excel and Power Point
  • Developing collaborative relationships with cross functional teams, supporting modular development and execution
  • Demonstrates self-motivation, adaptability, cooperation and trust
  • Based in Bentonville, AR 
  • 3+ years prior experience in consumer goods and beauty
  • 3+ years prior experience with Walmart systems
