About Finch

We believe every American household deserves access to counsel in life’s biggest moments. At Finch, we’re building the infrastructure to make justice radically more accessible. Our modern approach to consumer law automates the admin work and puts clients first, starting with personal injury.

Since launching in April, we’ve grown 10x and are now powering pre-litigation for top law firms across the country. We combine expert operators with purpose-built AI to handle intake, claim opening, medical records, police reports, lien management, demands, and everything in between.

We’re backed by Sequoia, Redpoint, and the founders & CEOs of generational companies like DoorDash, Ironclad, and Digits. We’re rebuilding how the law serves everyday Americans from first principles, and we’re hiring exceptional operators to help us scale it nationwide.

This Role: Case Manager, Claims & Liens

We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Pre-Litigation Specialist to support case management from intake through settlement preparation. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience opening claims, preparing and organizing coverage documentation, and managing ongoing communication with insurance carriers.

This role also requires experience handling the full lien resolution process, including placing health insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare on notice; conducting follow-ups; tracking and reconciling lien ledgers; and ensuring accurate documentation throughout the lifecycle of the claim.

The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, and energized by working in a fast-paced startup environment where processes are evolving and ownership is expected.

What You'll Do:
  • Open insurance claims with all relevant carriers (liability, UM/UIM, med pay), send letters of representation, obtain claim numbers and adjuster assignments, and manage ongoing carrier communication including acknowledgment follow-up

  • Request and track policy limits disclosures, medical records, police reports, and other essential case documents; implement systematic follow-up protocols to ensure timely receipt and flag non-responsive parties for escalation

  • Identify health insurance liens, send required lien notices, monitor subrogation communications, and coordinate lien resolution to prevent settlement delays or compliance issues

  • Conduct liability analysis from police reports and carrier responses, assess compensability based on available coverage limits, and prepare comprehensive case packages for lead paralegals to draft settlement demands

  • Analyze workflow inefficiencies in case setup processes, identify automation opportunities, and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time from intake to demand-ready status

You Might Be a Fit if You:
  • Experience in personal injury pre-litigation previously

  • Experience opening claims, creating all coverage-related documentation, and managing relationships with insurance providers

  • Experience in managing the Liens flow, including putting health insurance/medicaid/medicare on notice, following-up, managing ledgers, and more

  • Attention to detail and excitement for a fast paced startup environment

Additional benefits include:

  • 100% coverage for health, dental, and vision

  • 401(k) retirement plan

  • In-office snacks, drinks, and daily team lunch and dinners

  • Flexible PTO (we trust you to take the time you need)

At Finch Legal, we believe in practicing what we advocate.

As a company dedicated to upholding justice and protecting people in the workplace, we are equally committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and equitable environment within our own walls. We welcome and support individuals from all backgrounds and lived experiences — regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or veteran status.

We recognize that diversity strengthens our team, enriches our perspectives, and empowers us to better serve our clients and communities. At Finch Legal, inclusion isn’t just a value — it’s a practice.
