JOB SUMMARY
The objective is to support on-time delivery of products at the best possible price while minimizing production inventory levels for Avid and its suppliers. This role is responsible for and manages purchasing, materials requirements planning, inventory levels/turns, supplier performance, and ERP data maintenance throughout the production life cycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES- Cross functional and cross company partnership with product quality, order fulfillment, manufacturing engineering, sourcing, new product introduction, and logistics teams to support customer success.
- Focus on delivering against specific metrics aimed at on-time delivery, approved cost, availability, and on-time shipment.
- Manages supplier and supply chain vendors to execute strategic material programs, yield minimum excess and obsolete inventory, and minimize material shortages.
- Functional understanding of material requirements planning to judge the accuracy of and need to act upon purchase requisitions.
- Approval and execution of engineering change orders or deviations impacting material availability, material obsolescence, and production throughput.
- Supporting the entirety of product manufacturing life cycles with concentrated effort applied to introduction, growth, and phase out. Includes calculating and executing last time buy purchases followed by stock depletion.
- Understanding supplier contracts and KPI’s to support supplier performance and protect Avid from undue inventory liability.
- Partnering with sourcing to optimize supplier selections.
- ERP data maintenance including but not limited to purchase info. records, source lists, buyer codes, lead-times, MOQ‘s, ROP’s, and safety stocks.
- Prompt resolution of invoice discrepancies with accounts payable to allow on time payment.
- Bachelor’s degree in business/supply chain or Industrial Engineering preferred.
- 1-2 years of professional experience in supply chain procurement, planning, or sourcing desired.
- Experience purchasing electro-mechanical assemblies with PCBA content is preferred.
- Experience using NetSuite or equivalent ERP database systems.
- Experience in lean manufacturing, supply chain, and inventory stocking strategies preferred.
- Ability to understand inventory impact on cash flow, costing activities, and price negotiation.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals and meet objectives.
- Requires strong Microsoft office computer skills with the ability to provide management updates, oral and written presentations, supplier status summary, and problem-solving skills.
