We’re seeking a Business Process Analyst for a 9-month contract to help diagnose, redesign, and operationalize high-impact workflows across multiple operational domains. You’ll combine process engineering discipline (mapping, measurement, bottleneck analysis, standardization) with pragmatic implementation (automation enablement, documentation, change management) to improve speed, quality, and scalability.

This role is ideal for someone who can move from ambiguity to clarity quickly—turning complex, cross-functional work into simple, measurable workflows that teams can execute consistently.

Contract Details
  • Engagement: Contract (9 months)
  • Expected hours: Full-time (or near full-time) contract engagement
  • Start: As soon as available
  • Location: Remote/Hybrid (based on business needs)
  • Reports to: SVP Strategy and Business Operations
  • Rate: $45-$60/hour

What You’ll Do

Process Discovery & Documentation

  • Lead end-to-end process discovery sessions with stakeholders across Operations, Product, and related partner teams.
  • Document current-state workflows with clear definitions of:
    • Inputs/outputs, handoffs, decision points, exceptions
    • Cycle time, dwell time, throughput, rework drivers
  • Establish a shared process “source of truth” (diagrams, SOPs, RACI, and workflow documentation).

Process Redesign & Optimization

  • Identify root causes of delays, variability, and quality issues using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Design future-state workflows that reduce manual work, improve predictability, and clarify ownership.
  • Develop operational policies and guardrails (SLAs, standards, escalation paths, exception handling).

Automation Enablement (Including AI-Enabled Automation)

  • Translate process opportunities into an actionable automation backlog (quick wins vs. larger bets).
  • Partner with technical and non-technical builders to implement automations using appropriate tools (low-code/no-code, RPA, workflow tools, and/or AI-enabled automation platforms).
  • Ensure automations are operationally safe: monitoring, fallbacks, human-in-the-loop steps, and clear runbooks.

Measurement, Insights, and Operating Rhythm

  • Define and track performance indicators tied to cycle time, quality, throughput, and workload.
  • Create lightweight dashboards and reporting to monitor performance and prioritize improvements.
  • Build capacity and utilization views to support staffing models, forecast planning, and cost-to-serve visibility.

Change Management & Rollout

  • Drive adoption by creating SOPs, training materials, and launch plans.
  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment, decision-making, and ongoing continuous improvement rituals.
  • Communicate progress clearly to leadership with risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations.

What Success Looks Like

Within the contract period, you will:

  • Produce clear current-state and future-state workflow maps for prioritized processes.
  • Reduce operational friction through standardization, simplification, and automation.
  • Improve workflow performance through measurable cycle-time and quality improvements.
  • Leave behind durable artifacts: SOPs, dashboards, runbooks, and an improvement roadmap that can be sustained after the engagement ends.

Who you are
  • Systems thinking and attention to detail
  • Bias for action with strong prioritization
  • Comfort navigating cross-functional complexity
  • Ability to balance speed with controls and reliability
  • High ownership and accountability

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in business process analysis, process engineering, operations excellence, or similar roles.
  • Strong ability to map and improve processes using structured methods (Lean, Six Sigma, BPMN, value stream mapping, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience improving workflows that involve:
    • Multiple handoffs
    • Exceptions/edge cases
    • High-volume or repetitive operational work
  • Strong analytical skills (Excel/Google Sheets proficiency required; SQL a plus).
  • Exceptional facilitation and communication skills—able to work effectively with both frontline teams and leaders.
  • Proven ability to deliver in ambiguous environments and drive work to completion.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing workflow automation (low-code/no-code, RPA, integrations, ticketing/work management tooling).
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled automation approaches (agent-based workflows, intelligent intake/classification, self-healing workflows, etc.).
  • Experience in high-growth SaaS, marketplace operations, procurement/ordering, onboarding, or operational service delivery.
  • Process mining or instrumentation experience (event data, funnel analysis, operational telemetry).
