The Business Intelligence Developer will create visualizations and dashboards using Power BI, work with SQL for data analysis, and interact with trading teams to meet business needs.
Castleton Commodities International is looking for a Data Visualization Developer to join our Data Science and Technology team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data visualization technology, with a particular focus on using Python and the Streamlit visualization package. In this role, you will support the commercial business with transforming complex data sets into intuitive, interactive, and insightful visualizations to enhance understanding of supply and demand drivers, and ultimately predict future price trends to assist Traders in managing risk.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with commercial trading teams to create and optimize visualization solutions for Natural Gas, Power, and Oil analytics projects.
- Develop scalable and maintainable PowerBI dashboards and reports, which will be adopted throughout the organization, enabling users to make informed decisions.
- Utilize Streamlit to create custom, interactive web applications for data visualization and exploration.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on development in Power BI (excellent knowledge of DAX and Power Query).
- Strong database/SQL skills - Writing complex SQL queries for data analysis.
- Experience working with cloud-based data warehouses such as Snowflake.
- Experience with Python based visualization technology such as Streamlit, Dash, Plotly.
- Strong analytical skills are required, including a thorough understanding of interpreting customer business needs and translating them into report/dashboard visualization requirements.
- Ability to communicate and interact with a wide range of users, from very technical to non-technical.
- Results-oriented team player who can handle rapidly changing projects and priorities while maintaining a strong professional presence.
- Strong analytical skillset with demonstrated attention to detail.
- The candidate should be passionate about technology and stay current with trends.
- Fast learner with the ability to adapt quickly and work in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Data warehousing concepts (e.g., Facts, Dimensions, Star and Snowflake design, etc.) and SQL query performance tuning.
- Experience working with Power Automate.
