Why You’ll Thrive Here

At Caliber, growth starts with conversations—and you’re the one who gets them started. As a Business Development Representative, you’ll be the engine behind our pipeline, connecting with healthcare leaders and opening the doors that fuel our momentum.

If you’re energized by goals, driven by activity, and motivated by turning cold outreach into real opportunity, this is where your hustle turns into impact. High performers in this role will gain meaningful exposure to our sales process and may be considered for future opportunities as the team grows.

What You'll Own & Achieve

  • Be the spark: Launch high-volume outbound outreach (calls, email, and more) to hospitals, health systems, and healthcare organizations. Every conversation you start builds momentum for growth.
  • Fuel the pipeline: Qualify decision-makers, uncover basic needs, and generate interest in Caliber’s staffing solutions—turning outreach into real opportunities.
  • Set the stage for wins: Schedule high-quality discovery meetings for Business Development Consultants and Directors (8+ per month) and ensure smooth handoffs that lead to closed business.
  • Activity with purpose: Consistently meet daily outreach goals (50–60+ dials) and monthly meeting targets. Discipline and consistency are your competitive edge.
  • Own your data, own your impact: Keep CRM clean and current—logging outreach, tracking follow-ups, and maintaining organized lead records for accurate pipeline visibility.
  • Partner to win: Work closely with Business Development leaders to align on targeting, qualification criteria, and messaging. Share insights from the field to continuously improve results.
  • Stay coachable, stay growing: Lean into feedback, performance coaching, and skill development to sharpen your outreach and accelerate your career.

What You Bring to the Table

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in outbound sales, customer service, call center, or appointment setting is a plus
  • Confidence and resilience with cold calling and high-volume outreach
  • Strong verbal communication and professional presence
  • Comfort using CRM tools and managing activity metrics
  • Self-motivated, goal-driven, and highly coachable
  • Energized by a fast-paced, performance-focused environment
  • Early-career candidates looking to break into sales and build a strong foundation will thrive in this role.

Why Caliber?

  • Momentum matters: You’ll be part of a high-energy culture built around activity, accountability, and winning together.
  • Clear path for growth: This temporary role offers the opportunity to extend or convert to a full-time position based on performance and business needs.
  • Make meaningful impact: Your outreach helps healthcare organizations solve critical staffing challenges—supporting providers and improving patient care.
  • Relationship-first culture: We believe results start with relationships. Even your first call contributes to long-term partnerships.
  • Support to succeed: Coaching, clear expectations, and a team that’s invested in your development from day one.

Ready to Build Your Sales Career?

If you’re competitive, coachable, and ready to turn activity into opportunity, let’s talk. Join a team that values hustle, growth, and the drive to open doors that lead to big wins.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
