Enterprise Business Development Representative

(United States or Canada)

About the role

We are looking for an Enterprise Business Development Representative with experience in B2B cloud-based subscription software to drive new client development with Fortune 500 companies across multiple industries. You will be responsible for building relationships with executives and industry leaders across the energy, healthcare, marketing, and technology sectors. You will be responsible for presenting our company and our product in ways that will strengthen our brand and boost sales.

As a BDR, you'll help accelerate the pipeline in a differentiated niche within the social listening software domain. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to run a thoughtful, insight-led outbound motion. You will conduct real account research, build targeted outreach, and use platform-driven insights to earn meetings with enterprise buyers.

What you'll do
  • Own enterprise prospecting across a defined set of accounts and personas. Build targeted outreach based on account context, triggers, and business signals.
  • Use the platform to generate insights that strengthen messaging and relevance.
  • Run discovery conversations and qualify next steps with precision.
  • Partner closely with sales leadership and iterate quickly based on what is working.
  • Track activity and outcomes, test new approaches, and continuously improve conversion.
What Success Looks Like
  • You run a strategic and methodical outbound process, not high-volume outreach.
  • Your messaging is personalized, signal-based, and built to earn replies.
  • You build strong enterprise discovery habits and progress opportunities cleanly.
  • You improve meeting quality through better targeting, research, and positioning.
Required Qualifications
  • 1 - 3 years of experience as a BDR, SDR, or in a similar outbound sales role.
  • Exposure to enterprise prospecting, including targeted account research, personalization, and point of view development.
  • Comfort building account-specific insights to support outreach.
  • Strong discovery mindset, clear communication, and strong questioning skills.
  • Coachable and disciplined with the ability to take feedback, test, and improve quickly.
  • Have sourced deals for multiple Fortune 500 client accounts in a previous role.
  • Honed exceptional communication skills with a keen eye for building relationships with executives and prospective clients.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with social listening or adjacent social/media monitoring technology.
  • Experience prospecting into enterprise accounts, ideally in or adjacent to platforms.
  • Established relationships with potential Fortune 500 clients.
What we offer
  • Grow as a professional by working with emerging technologies in a high-demand industry segment.
  • Drive company direction at a company that encourages input from all levels to help shape our trajectory.
  • Experience working at a technology company in which the mission focus is on tackling one of society’s greatest challenges.
  • Learn from industry and government experts who value initiative and encourage innovation.
  • Enjoy the flexibility to work remotely, unlimited PTO, and company (and two personal-choice) holidays.
  • Receive excellent benefits, including 100% employer-paid employee health premiums (50% for dependents), 401(k), and FSA.

The Business Development Representative position offers a base salary range of $65,000 to $75,000, +$55K variable(OTE $120K), no cap, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Please note that this range serves as a guideline; actual total compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, skill set, qualifications, and geographic location.

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
