We are looking for a talented and competitive Business Development Representative who thrives in a quick sales cycle environment. The successful candidate will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. You must be comfortable making daily calls, prospecting across multiple platforms, working with channel partners, generating interest, qualifying prospects, delivering qualified leads and ultimately closing sales.

What you’ll do:

  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails from your own organic prospecting, from trade shows, and special projects

  • Understand customer needs and requirements

  • Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure

  • Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest

  • Maintain and expand your database of prospects within your assigned territory

  • Team with channel partners to build pipeline and close deals

  • Perform effective online demos to prospects

  • Providing updates to senior leadership through regular and/or ad hoc performance reports, resourcing requirements, issues/resolution recommendations

  • Provide feedback to marketing and sales regarding potential challenges in our business, opportunities, and competitive insights

  • Effectively create, manage and close a funnel of opportunities and sales operations utilizing the power of Salesforce

What you bring:

  • Proven sales development experience

  • Track record of over-achieving

  • Strong phone presence and experience with executing large outbound call volume, daily

  • Experience working with Salesforce (or similar CRM) and sales tech tools

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong listening skills

  • Strong business acumen, and expert negotiation

  • Strong organizational skills, professional maturity, and the ability to think and act strategically

  • A highly energetic, trusted and influential relationship builder that has strong attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively

  • Meet quarterly and annual, financial targets

  • Enthusiastically represent TELUS Health in business presentations, relationships, community efforts, and

  • general networking activities

  • Communicate professionally, crisply and confidently

  • Must be able to articulate the TELUS Health business proposition and ROI model passionately

  • Knowledge of EAP, the Insurance industry or group benefits an asset but not required
