Job Description:

We’re hiring a different kind of Business Development Representative.

Title: Business Development Representative (BDR)

Team: Network Solutions

Location: Remote in New York City / commutable area

Why This Role Exists

We’re looking for BDRs to join our team and to help build this function—not just execute it.

At Phreesia Network Solutions, our Business Development team sits at the front of our growth engine, creating opportunities that become meaningful partnerships with the world’s leading life sciences organizations. As our BDR motion continues to scale, you’ll play an active role in shaping how we prospect, engage, and generate pipeline while helping define what great looks like for the team.

If you’re energized by finding opportunities before others see them, enjoy leveraging technology to work smarter, and want to help build the future of modern sales, this is the role for you.

What You’ll Spend Your Time Doing

  • Research strategically: Conduct thoughtful account and stakeholder research to understand organizational priorities and develop insights that create meaningful sales conversations.
  • Build outreach that resonates: Develop personalized, multi-channel outbound campaigns using our modern sales technology stack, creating messaging tailored to each prospect rather than relying on generic templates.
  • Generate and qualify pipeline: Identify new opportunities through outbound prospecting while quickly qualifying inbound interest generated through marketing campaigns, events, content, and paid programs.
  • Partner across the business: Collaborate closely with Client Experience teams to strategically engage existing customer relationships, share account context, and ensure seamless handoffs for qualified opportunities.
  • Support strategic initiatives: Contribute to RFIs, account planning, and strategic deliverables for high-priority prospective customers.
  • Continuously improve how we work: Identify opportunities to optimize processes, test new approaches, and share best practices that help the team operate more effectively and strategically.

What Makes You a Great Fit

You'll be a great fit if you:

  • Are relentlessly curious and proactive — you dig into accounts, uncover insights others might miss, and don't wait for leads, instructions, or a finished playbook to create opportunities.
  • Have a growth mindset — you actively seek feedback, experiment with new approaches, continuously improve your performance, and enjoy helping refine how the team works.
  • Are tech-forward — you quickly learn new tools and treat our sales technology stack as a force multiplier, always looking for smarter, more effective ways to engage prospects.
  • Communicate thoughtfully and collaborate naturally — you write clear, personalized outreach and enjoy partnering closely with Client Experience and other sales teams to navigate complex customer relationships.
  • Are organized and excited to build your sales career — you can effectively manage multiple accounts and priorities, and experience in business development, SaaS, healthcare, healthtech, life sciences, or other complex B2B environments is a plus.

We Do Have A Few Requirements To Check

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Previous business development, sales, or related professional experience preferred (including equivalent internship or relevant experience)

Where You’ll Work

This is a remote role, with the expectation that you're based in the NYC/commutable area.

Compensation & Rewards

Base Salary: $70,000–$75,000 USD, based on experience

A comprehensive Total Rewards package designed to support your whole life — not just your work

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
