The Business Development Representative - Community Resource Directory is an individual contributor role for someone who thrives on high-volume outbound outreach, relationship building, and tangible results. This role is ideal for a proven BDR or sales professional who wants ownership, impact, and variety.

Your mission: proactively source, secure, and verify high-impact local businesses and national discounts that materially improve the Wellist user experience.

This is a hands-on role in which success is measured by the number of calls made, conversations held, discounts secured, and value delivered to users.

What You’ll DoHigh-Volume Outbound Vendor & Brand Outreach (Core Focus)

You will spend the majority of your time on proactive outbound outreach. You will:

  • Conduct high-volume outbound calling and email outreach to national brands and local vendors to secure proprietary Wellist discounts and exclusive offers
  • Identify and pursue providers that align with Wellist’s mission and deliver meaningful value to both users and their employers
  • Manage the entire outreach process: from search through outreach, qualification, to successfully published
  • Value tracking of discount amounts to quantify savings for our users
Vendor Verification & Directory Quality

You will help ensure Wellist’s directory is trusted, relevant, and high-impact. You will:

  • Vet and verify vendors for accuracy, reliability, and user experience
  • Evaluate inbound vendor requests and determine fit against Wellist criteria
  • Build and maintain high-quality vendor listings that elevate the overall platform experience
What Success Looks Like

First 3 months: Fully ramped up on outbound outreach, tools, and vendor selection criteria. Actively sourcing national brands and high-impact vendors. Securing early wins through proprietary discounts and partnerships.

6 Months: Consistently establishing new vendor partnerships and negotiating discounts that enhance user experience. Recognized as a primary resource for sourcing, outreach, and vendor qualification. Maintains a robust pipeline of national brands and lesser-known vendors.

12 Months: Demonstrates a clear, measurable impact on directory quality, coverage, and user satisfaction. Recognized internally as an efficient, high-quality performer. Enhance Wellist’s value for our users by delivering the right support at the right time while delivering savings on those services. 

What You Bring

  • 1-4+ years of experience in sales, BDR, outbound partnerships, or business development
  • Proven success in high-volume outbound calling and outreach
  • Strong qualification and discovery skills—you know how to separate “nice to have” from “high impact”
  • Comfort positioning value with vendors and brands
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Hands-on executor who thrives on personally ensuring goals are achieved
  • Strong technical aptitude and comfort working across multiple systems and tools
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality, consistency, and follow-through
