We’re looking for a high-energy, curious, and motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to help us accelerate growth at Conversica. You’ll be on the front lines of our sales motion — driving outreach, engaging prospective customers, and generating pipeline for our Sales team.

As the first point of contact for many of our future customers, your ability to spark interest, ask thoughtful questions, and uncover pain points will set the tone for the entire sales process. This is a high-impact role where your work directly contributes to revenue growth and go-to-market success. We’re a lean, agile team, and we’re looking for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, loves solving problems, and is hungry to grow in SaaS.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conduct outbound prospecting via cold calls, emails, and social selling
  • Qualify inbound leads and move them through the early stages of the funnel
  • Partner closely with AEs and Marketing to align on target accounts, messaging, and follow-up
  • Research prospects and tailor outreach to their business needs
  • Consistently update CRM (Salesforce) with accurate and timely notes
  • Hit and exceed weekly/monthly activity and meeting goals
  • Provide feedback from prospects to help shape campaigns, messaging, and enablement materials

What We’re Looking For

  • 1–2 years of experience in a SaaS sales or BDR/SDR role
  • Proven success in outbound prospecting (email, phone, LinkedIn)
  • Experience selling to mid-market or enterprise companies is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity and adaptability in a fast-paced startup
  • Grit, curiosity, and drive — someone who takes initiative and learns fast
  • Experience with tools like Salesforce, Outreach, or HubSpot is a plus

The base salary range for this role is $60,000 – $70,000 per year, plus up to $25,000 in variable incentive pay. Pay is based on several factors such as location, relevant skills, and experience.

Conversica offers a competitive benefits package, including: Medical, dental, and vision coverage, flex time PTO, 401(k), and equity participation.

You’ll also gain the opportunity to grow your career in a Business Development-to-AE path, and play a high-impact role on a small but mighty team where your voice is heard and your contributions make a real difference.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
