Business Development Manager
Location: Greater Toronto Area

To complement its consumer offering, Beacon is launching business banking service designed for cross-border needs of Canadian SMB’s. We start with a focus on Canadian businesses with Indian ties and will expand quickly from there. There are also natural synergies with Beacon’s consumer offering.
We seek a high-energy, relationship-driven Business Development Manager to bring our business service directly to merchants and entrepreneurs across the GTA and beyond. You will act not only as a business development manager but also as a relationship/account manager to grow the business with Beacon’s clients across our consumer and business products.
What you will do:
- Pipeline & deal execution
- Build relationships through in-person visits, community presence, and referrals. Develop partnership channels with community organizations
- Leverage your existing network of Canadian SMBs to promote Beacon’s business product
- Connect with Beacon’s current consumer partners to cross-sell our business product. Build relationships through in-person visits, community presence, and referrals
- Find unconventional and innovative ways to prospect and acquire SMB customers with frequent international payment needs
- Manage a structured approach using sales tools to develop a strong outbound pipeline and consistently close new accounts
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and Product to structure commercial agreements
- Outbound & Relationship Building
- Engage senior stakeholders through email, LinkedIn, calls, events, and partnerships.
- Build trusted relationships with executives, influencers, and internal champions.
- Lead compelling product demos and solution discussions tailored to client needs. Provide field feedback to help shape product and market strategy
What you bring:
- Demonstrated hustle and success in high-accountability sales environments
- At least three years in sales, ideally in financial services (eg payments, POS, merchant services, fintech, or business banking). B2B sales and international payments / foreign exchange experience are assets
- Proven record of hitting or exceeding revenue targets
- Strong understanding of SaaS sales cycles (especially mid-market/enterprise)
- A strong network of merchants or SMB owners in the GTA. Other markets are assets
- Ability to build trust quickly with business owners especially in the target segment
- A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and fast environments
- Willingness to “pound the pavement” and make frequent visits to clients in your territory
- Nice to Have - Prior experience in a startup or high-growth tech environment
Compensation: Competitive base, performance commissions, and outsized equity for exceptional candidates.
