The Business Development Manager will drive growth by identifying new opportunities, managing sales cycles, and building strategic partnerships in the payment industry with a focus on high-risk sectors.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager to join our team in Cyprus and spearhead the growth of our payment orchestration platform. This role is crucial in identifying new business opportunities, forming strategic partnerships, and expanding our market presence across high-risk and global industries. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in the payment’s ecosystem, ideally with experience in high-risk verticals such as Gaming, Forex or other High Risk verticals. Experience with payment orchestration engines or platforms will be considered a significant advantage.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify new business opportunities and industry trends.
- Identify, target, and engage prospective merchants, platforms, and high-risk clients.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach to contract negotiation and closure.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline and ensure continuous prospect engagement.
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with merchants, partners, and payment service providers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration and client satisfaction.
- Deliver compelling proposals and product presentations tailored to client needs.
- Represent the company at industry events, expos, and conferences to drive brand visibility and lead generation.
- Provide feedback and insights from the market to improve offerings and business strategy.
Desired Skills and Expertise:
- 5+ years of experience in sales, working within the payment industry, PSPs, Orchestration Engine or acquirer sectors.
- Proven track record of selling into high-risk merchants such as Forex, online gaming, crypto an advantage
- Familiarity with payment orchestration platforms or payment routing engines is a strong plus.
- Experience with cross-border payments, B2B payments, or high-volume online transaction environments is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of industry regulations, compliance, and risk mitigation in payments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (both written and spoken).
- High level of interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively.
- Self-starter, able to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings, events, and conferences as required.
