Description

We are seeking a strategic and proactive Business Development Manager to support the growth of a new division focused on robotics and consumer electronics markets. This is a highly visible, greenfield opportunity responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, opening strategic customer relationships, and expanding the company’s market presence.

  • Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities within robotics, humanoid robotics, consumer electronics, and related technology markets.
  • Build and expand relationships with strategic customers, including both new logo acquisition and growth within existing top-tier accounts.
  • Develop projects and opportunities from early-stage concept discussions through commercialization and mass production.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to customers by understanding technical challenges, application requirements, and market trends.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Applications Engineering, R&D, Marketing, and Product Management teams to support customer engagement and project development.
  • Promote VPG's sensing technologies, including force, torque, strain measurement, and related sensor solutions.
  • Maintain a strong opportunity pipeline and effectively manage customer engagement activities through CRM tools.
  • Lead business development activities while coordinating with internal resources that support the sales process.
  • Provide market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback to support business strategy and product development.
  • Meet established KPIs focused on project creation, opportunity development, customer engagement, and pipeline growth.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of business development, strategic sales, technical sales, or account growth experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven success identifying, prospecting, and developing new business opportunities in technical markets.
  • Experience within robotics, humanoid robotics, automation, sensors, electronics, semiconductor, consumer electronics, or related industries.
  • Understanding of force/torque sensing, sensors, measurement technologies, or electromechanical components preferred.
  • Experience supporting products through the lifecycle from concept, design, and development through production.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, influencing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage both engineering and business stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with strong pipeline management and project tracking capabilities.
  • Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
  • Self-motivated and capable of operating independently in a remote environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%
Benefits

Base Salary: $110,000 - $160,000 per year depending on experience.

The estimated salary range allows for candidates with various levels of skills and experience to be considered, as well as provides room for growth achieved within the role over time. Any offer extended to a candidate or salary increase consideration for a current employee will be based on the individual’s unique set of knowledge, skills, education, experience and geographic location, as well as internal equity.
