Axolabs specialises in a new class of drugs whose active ingredients are chemically derived from DNA or RNA. They are called oligonucleotide or nucleic acid therapeutics. We use our many years of expertise to help our clients make them a success. Some of these drugs have already been approved and are being used successfully against diseases that were previously untreatable in some cases. New drugs from this class are added every year.

Job Description

The Business Development Manager – Axolabs (CRO) will be instrumental in driving Axolabs’ sales in the US and Asia and in extending brand recognition within the associated client base. Due to the wide range and complexity of Axolabs’ service portfolio the successful candidate will draw on a sound scientific background in life sciences to deliver bespoke solutions to meet client requirements. With scientific excellence and quality being the priority, the Business Development Manager will proactively engage with new and existing clients to close deals and forge alliances.

The role offers a unique opportunity for an individual that naturally combines strong scientific skills with good business acumen.

Reporting to the Director Business Develoment, Kulmbach, the Business Development Manager - Axolabs (CRO) will be responsible for US/Asia business growth, and for achieving set targets.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience within Pharmaceutical or CRO industries.
  • Proven track record in deal making.
  • Expertise in lead generation, visit management, customer account management and relationship management with primarily USA-based clients.
  • Successful business execution in Asia.
  • Knowledge of the drug research and development process within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge in the Nucleic Acid Therapeutic area is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare high quality proposals to meet client objectives that draw on the portfolio of skills and services available within the Axolabs organization.
  • Represent Axolabs at industry conferences and scientific meetings.
  • Identify and target new business opportunities.
  • Effectively deliver customized presentations to prospective and existing clients that describe our value-added offerings.
  • Build and maintain strong and trusted business relationships.
  • Utilize the full suite of sales mechanisms to pitch capabilities and offerings to new or existing pharmaceutical and biotech clients.
  • Deliver and report against set business targets.
  • Ability to regularly travel within USA and Asia.
