We are looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to become a vital part of our vibrant Business Development team.

This work will be split across all our key business focus areas, and your specified territory and/or specialist vertical. You will be a senior influence in our organization and will be expected to conduct your business and yourself in an exemplary manner, providing inspiration and aspirational capabilities to the wider team.

As a Business Development Manager, you'll be comfortable working in focused business areas and developing key strategic approaches in partnership with various internal stakeholders. Travel across the Americas will be a significant part of this role, ranging from 30% to 50% depending on your assigned region, and you will be an experienced national and international traveler. Your experience will allow you to take a balanced, mature approach to collaborate with customers for long term partnership based on trust and mutual benefit. You'll be competitive but will recognize the value and function of the wider team. You'll enjoy coaching those around you and most importantly you'll enjoy winning.

Our goal is to have a sophisticated team equipped with expert technical skills in addition to keen business acumen. Each member of our team adds unique value to the business and the customer. Sourceability is committed to a culture where we attract the best talent in the industry.

Insight on your impact:

  • Proven track record of achieving profitable growth that outperforms the market.
  • Deep knowledge and experience within the specific territory or vertical market, allowing for strategic insight.
  • A broad and active network that can be quickly leveraged to drive business and expand the customer base in your territory.
  • Confidence and ease in communicating with individuals at all organizational levels, including senior leadership (C-suite).
  • Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Experience building and maintaining clean, organized CRM pipelines and creating strategic plans for business growth.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new information and align solutions with customer needs to drive success.
  • Commitment to work-life balance, with flexibility to manage both professional and personal responsibilities.

Your qualifications, your influence:

To be successful in the role, you must possess the following skills

  • 4-10 years of experience in a business development or sales role, with a demonstrated history of driving revenue growth through both new account acquisition and expansion of existing accounts.
  • Extensive experience in Franchised Distribution, Independent Distribution, Supplier sales in high-reliability industries, or a combination of these fields.
  • A valid driving license is required for this role due to the need for local business travel.
  • Possession of a valid passport and the ability to travel internationally as needed.
  • A strong understanding of testing and quality practices commonly used in the electronic components industry.
  • Proven experience working remotely and successfully delivering results.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to various audiences.
  • Comfort and familiarity with using ERP systems to profile customers and understand their business needs.
  • Experience with sales methodologies such as Miller Heimann, Challenger, or Sandler is a plus.
  • This role requires travel ranging from 30% to 50% across the Americas, including international trips. Travel will be managed in compliance with local labor regulations, with allowances to ensure a balanced workload.

Preferred skills and technical familiarity:

Adding additional insight, and a growth mindset, will elevate your contribution in this role

  • Proven ability to build and manage a multi-state or multi-city sales territory, developing strategic coverage plans that maximize market penetration and account growth.

Benefits:

  • 401k
  • Medical insurance

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
