About The Team

You’ll be joining the JD.com team, which values collaboration, ownership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

About the Project (Who We Are)

We are a stealth innovation team backed by JD.com (one of the world's largest supply chain networks). We are building the solution and protocols to connect the Agent to physical world [Confidential].

Our mission?

To build the ultimate autonomous supply chain for the machine economy. We help Silicon Valley robotics and hardware startups source parts from Shenzhen at factory prices, with 100% trust verified by Edge AI vision models, and paid autonomously via AI wallets.

The Role (What You Will Do)

This is not a traditional corporate sales job. You are our "boots on the ground" in Silicon Valley. You will be the bridge between our engineering team and the hottest robotics startups (Seed to Series B).

Your mission in the first 5 months is simple: Get us our first 10 pilot customers and secure Letters of Intent (LOIs).

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Hustle & Hunt: Infiltrate the Bay Area hardware ecosystem. You won't just be sending LinkedIn messages; you'll be attending meetups at Circuit Launch, AGI House, and YC demo days to find founders whose desks are covered in motor parts and Excel spreadsheets.
  • The "Shadow Test": You will not sell software. You will offer "Supply Chain Audits." You will convince hardware CTOs to share their current Bill of Materials (BOM) and historical invoices, so our backend team can prove we can save them 30% in costs and weeks in lead time.
  • Close the Loop: Drive the conversion from a free audit to a signed LOI, and eventually, integrating our Edge AI verification boxes into their workflow.
  • Voice of the Customer: Act as the harsh reality check for our PMs and Devs. If the market says our API is too complex, you are the one who demands changes from the tech team.

Who You Are (What We're Looking For)

  • The Hardware/Robotics Insider: You have 2-5 years of experience in BD, tech sales, or product roles within the hardware, robotics, IoT, or supply chain space. You know what a servo motor is, and you know why hardware startups burn through cash.
  • The Startup Hustler: You operate well in ambiguity. You don’t wait for a polished pitch deck; you can sell a vision drawn on a napkin.
  • Technical Empathy: You aren't an engineer, but you can confidently explain concepts like APIs, Edge AI (Raspberry Pi/Camera setups), and smart contracts to a technical founder.
  • Bilingual Advantage (Optional): Fluent in both English and Mandarin

What We Offer

  • The agility and cash equivalent to the upside of a 0-to-1 stealth startup, with the financial backing and supply chain firepower of a Fortune 500 giant.
  • The opportunity to define the Go-To-Market strategy for a protocol that will power the next generation of AI Agents.

At JD.com, we’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and make all employment decisions without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
