The Business Development Associate will identify biopharma opportunities, manage sales funnels, support proposals, and represent Asimov at events.
Our mission at Asimov is to advance humanity's ability to design living systems, enabling biotechnologies with outsized benefit to society. We're developing a mammalian synthetic biology platform––from cells to software––to enable the design and manufacture of next-generation therapeutics.
We’re hiring a Business Development Associate to join our fast-growing Commercial team, with placement in either the Mid-Atlantic or Southwest U.S., depending on skillset and team fit. This is a high-impact, early- to mid-career role ideal for someone eager to develop their commercial skills and business acumen. You’ll support strategic territory growth, learn by doing alongside experienced colleagues, and contribute meaningfully to expanding Asimov’s presence across the biopharma ecosystem.
About the Role:
- Support revenue growth by identifying and qualifying new opportunities with biopharma companies—primarily startups, growth-stage firms, and emerging commercial players.
- Building and maintaining a healthy sales funnel, including lead generation, outbound outreach, and early-stage relationship development.
- Assist in proposal development and deal structuring, while supporting client communications throughout the business development process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical, legal, and operations, to align on partner needs, timelines, and deliverables.
- Represent Asimov at industry events, webinars, and partnering meetings to increase visibility and build relationships.
- Ensure CRM accuracy, track key sales metrics, and support internal reporting and process improvement initiatives.
About You:
- 2–4 years of experience in business development, sales, or client-facing roles within the life sciences or biotech tools/services sector.
- Familiarity with biomanufacturing and CMC functions, including cell line development, process development, or viral vector production.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
- A team player mindset with a desire to learn, grow, and take ownership over time.
- A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or a related field; advanced degrees (MBA, MS) are a plus but not required.
We're fueled by a vision to transform biological engineering into a fully-fledged engineering discipline. Should you join our team, you will grow with a constantly evolving organization and push the frontiers of synthetic biology. Company culture is key to Asimov, and ours is a culture of recombination; we believe that our mission can only be achieved by bringing together a diverse team with a mixture of backgrounds and perspectives.
