TL;DR:

Imubit is hiring a top-tier Business Consulting Engineer (BCE) to help upstream oil & gas producers realize transformative value using cutting-edge AI for process optimization. This role is ideal for a process-savvy engineer who excels at translating complex challenges into compelling solutions, and thrives in technical pre-sales environments that demand deep industry insight, public presence, and client trust.

About us:

At Imubit, we’re not just optimizing industrial processes—we’re redefining how entire industries operate. As the pioneer of Closed Loop AI Optimization (AIO), we are leading the charge in transforming refining, chemical, cement, and mineral mining plants with AI-driven automation. Our Optimizing Brain™ Solution puts the power of AI directly into the hands of engineers, enabling them to build and deploy their own multipurpose models to unlock new levels of efficiency, profitability, and sustainability.

Seven of the top ten U.S. refiners trust Imubit, with our solution deployed in over 90 high-value applications, delivering real-time process optimization that drives margins, reduces emissions, and builds the AI-savvy workforce of the future. Co-founded by a Google Fellow and award-winning data scientist, Imubit brings together domain experts from industry leaders like Exxon, Shell, Holcim, and FLSmidth. Backed by tier-1 venture capital firms such as Insight Partners and Alpha Wave, we are setting a new standard for industrial AI.

Our mission is simple but bold: helping the world’s leading industrial companies solve their most complex challenges, maximize long-term profitability, and future-proof their operations in an era of rapid change. If you’re ready to push boundaries and shape the future of industrial intelligence, now’s the time to join us.

We are looking for:

You, an upstream process expert with deep domain experience and a passion for bridging the gap between operations and technology. You have spent over a decade in the field solving operational challenges and leading improvements across upstream oil & gas production environments. Now, you’re ready to help shape the next wave of innovation by guiding customers and internal teams alike through the strategic application of AI.

You’re highly credible with engineering teams and decision-makers, capable of instilling trust and driving meaningful technical conversations. You think commercially and critically, with an eye for what’s practical and a deep sense of what works in real-world facilities. Your voice will help shape both client engagement and internal product strategy as Imubit continues to expand into upstream markets.

In this position you will:

  • Act as a trusted upstream advisor in the sales cycle, helping customers understand how Imubit’s technology can support their specific operational and business goals
  • Provide domain expertise to the Business Consulting Engineers and Sales team to validate and scope client needs, develop relevant proof points, and position Imubit as an expert partner
  • Build and maintain a knowledge base of upstream processes (e.g., production facilities, separation, gas lift, water handling) aligned to value drivers and Imubit’s solution capabilities
  • Combine the upstream knowledge base with Imubit’s existing technology footprint to identify which challenges are already addressed and which represent new opportunities for development
  • Identify and evangelize high-value use cases based on a strong understanding of the IT-OT optimization landscape
  • Work cross-functionally with Implementation Engineers and Solution Managers to explore Imubit-specific business cases, support early-stage technical discovery, and help develop deployment strategies
  • Map industry pain points to Imubit’s current technology footprint and contribute insight on where the technology solves existing challenges—and where it needs to evolve
  • Participate in product and solution alignment discussions, lending a customer-centric and industry-grounded perspective to internal teams

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • BSc or higher in a relevant Engineering discipline, such as Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in upstream oil & gas, with a focus on production operations, optimization, or process engineering
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise across upstream unit operations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak credibly to both technical and executive stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker with experience in framing operational challenges into solution-oriented discussions
  • Willingness to travel to client sites globally (20–30%)

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with process automation, APC, or AI/ML-driven tools in an operational setting
  • Familiarity with knowledge management, benchmarking, or internal consulting
  • Background in pre-sales, technical consulting, or sales engineering
  • Exposure to technology adoption or digital transformation initiatives in upstream
