Summary:
The Business Performance & Analytics Principal provides leadership and hands-on execution across reporting, analytics, and performance management initiatives. The role is responsible for developing reporting and analytics solutions, supporting KPI and performance measurement frameworks, and delivering actionable insights that help leaders understand performance, identify opportunities, and make informed business decisions.
This role partners with business leaders and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into reporting, analytics, and decision-support solutions. The Principal is expected to operate as a hands-on individual contributor while also guiding complex initiatives, mentoring analysts, and helping build scalable reporting and analytics capabilities.
The role requires a balance of business partnership, analytical problem-solving, report development, data analysis, forecasting, and initiative leadership.
Responsibilities:
• Lead strategic analytics initiatives and reporting workstreams that support operational priorities, transformation initiatives, and performance management needs.
• Design KPI frameworks, reporting methodologies, and measurement approaches that support consistent performance visibility.
• Develop advanced dashboards, scorecards, and reporting solutions that integrate operational metrics, trends, risks, and business outcomes.
• Conduct root-cause analysis, performance analysis, and trend analysis to identify drivers, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Perform and support forecasting, predictive insights, workload analysis, and scenario-based reporting where needed.
• Partner directly with business leaders to understand reporting needs, define requirements, and deliver actionable insights.
• Lead and support complex reporting requests, escalations, and priority initiatives that require advanced analytical judgment or cross-functional coordination.
• Mentor Business Performance & Analytics Seniors by sharing best practices, reviewing approach, and helping establish consistent reporting standards.
• Contribute as a hands-on individual contributor by developing reports, validating data, documenting logic, and supporting delivery when needed.
• Help establish reporting definitions, governance standards, documentation practices, and repeatable development processes.
• Partner with leaders to evaluate priorities, requirements, and resource needs to maximize the impact of reporting and analytics efforts.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 5-7+ years of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, operational reporting, performance management, or analytics-enabled business support.
• Experience leading analytics, reporting, dashboard, or business intelligence workstreams from requirements gathering through delivery.
• Advanced Power BI experience, including dashboard development, data modeling, measures, visualizations, and performance reporting.
• Strong SQL skills, including the ability to extract, join, transform, and validate data from multiple sources.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills, including experience working with large data sets, reporting logic, reconciliations, and analysis.
• Experience with KPI design, scorecards, operational metrics, reporting standards, and performance measurement.
• Experience analyzing operational performance, including quality, productivity, capacity, cycle time, SLA performance, client experience, or related business metrics.
• Ability to translate business questions into reporting requirements, analytical approaches, and practical recommendations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex data, reporting logic, and insights to non-technical audiences.
• Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and commitment to reporting accuracy and data quality.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work through ambiguity, and adjust based on changing business needs.
• Ability to work independently while also partnering closely with analysts, business stakeholders, and leadership.
Relevant Experience
• Experience with forecasting, trend analysis, root-cause analysis, predictive indicators, or advanced operational analytics.
• Experience supporting reporting modernization, report rationalization, process improvement, or automation initiatives.
• Experience working in operations, service delivery, manufacturing, supply chain, financial operations, or other execution-focused environments.
• Experience developing reporting governance, documentation standards, KPI definitions, or repeatable reporting processes.
• Experience mentoring analysts, reviewing analytical approach, and helping establish team standards.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics, automation tools, predictive indicators, or emerging analytics technologies used to improve reporting, analysis, and decision-making.
• Experience using data visualization principles and storytelling techniques to present insights clearly and effectively.
