Business Analyst – Retail Energy
Location: New York, New York (Hybrid) | Practice Area: Business Consulting | Type: Permanent

Support retail energy transformation by translating complex business needs into effective technology solutions.

The Role
As a Business Analyst specializing in Retail Energy at Capco, you will support clients in delivering transformation initiatives across the energy sector. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, gather and translate requirements, and bridge the gap between business and technology teams. This role requires strong analytical capability, consulting experience, and deep understanding of retail energy processes.

What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate client workshops and meetings to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements
  • Develop business requirement documents (BRDs), user stories, and process models to support solution delivery
  • Analyze current and future state processes to identify gaps and recommend improvements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to translate business needs into system solutions
  • Produce high-quality deliverables including reports, presentations, and consulting documentation

What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within Retail Energy
  • Experience with CIS/Billing, EDI, Customer Care, Sales, or C&I/Mass Market products
  • Strong skills in requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience working in consulting or professional services environments preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Finance, Computer Science, or similar

  • Experience across energy domains such as wholesale, settlements, or utilities
  • Exposure to consulting methodologies such as business case development or process optimization
  • Familiarity with data modeling, business architecture, or basic scripting
  • Experience contributing to reusable consulting assets (e.g., frameworks, templates)
  • Advanced degree in a related discipline
