A Day in the Life and the Impact You’ll Make:
DEKRA Strategic Consulting is seeking a motivated Business Analyst Intern who is ready to apply knowledge of business practices and data analysis in a fast-paced, real world, consulting environment. The Business Analyst Intern will analyze client data and develop findings in support of existing implementations.
In addition, the Business Analyst Intern will assist in building data models that support and integrate multiple consulting solutions to enable cross-cutting and meta-data analytics that will be applied across clients. The Business Analyst Intern will work collaboratively with the Strategic Consulting to capture insights, define solution metrics and visualize results.
The role requires knowledge of databases, familiarity with relevant software tools an understanding of survey data and advanced statistics. The position includes working independently to manage projects and deliverables. Finally, the role will be responsible for collaborating between departments to assure the on-time delivery of client facing documents.
Expected Internship Duration: Part-time for 5-6 months, potentially further extension
What You'll Do:
- Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by actively participating, taking responsibility, and following established procedures and policies.
- Review and resolve data quality and integrity issues to support the consulting operations team.
- Implement and automate data analytics to improve the quality and timeliness of client deliverables.
- Apply data science best practices to improve data collection, assessment, and safety analytics.
- Manage and troubleshoot data-related issues, including preprocessing datasets and supporting the development of a master data model.
- Develop presentations, reports, dashboards, and other analytic outputs to convey findings effectively.
- Support client projects, including assessment planning, data collection design, and execution.
- Assist with information systems utilization to streamline data processes and resolve client issues.
- Contribute to additional projects as needed.
What You'll Bring:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or a related field.
- Experience with statistical modeling, data analytics, and predictive modeling.
- Proficiency in ETL, database programming, and data processing.
- Strong understanding of data structures, transformation methods, and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, QuickSight, Tableau).
- Experience with programming languages (e.g., Java, Python).
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
Physical Considerations:
- Ability to work in a general office environment.
- Ability to handle extended periods of computer-based work, including telephone.
- Ability to lift 25-50lbs (luggage).
Travel Considerations:
- Periodic domestic travel to client locations and to support DEKRA team meetings

Compensation:
The base pay range for this position is $20.00 per hour to $25.00 per hour. Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
