Brown & Brown is seeking a Business Analyst to join our growing team.The Business Analyst – Data will play a key role in advancing the Retail Data Strategy by driving analytics, reporting, and data consolidation initiatives. This role focuses on identifying business needs, translating them into actionable requirements, and working with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions deliver measurable value. Success requires strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of data management practices and tools, and the ability to connect business strategy with technical execution.

How You Will Contribute:

Business Analysis and Requirements Management

  • Partner with stakeholders to identify and define analytics and reporting requirements aligned with strategic goals.
  • Translate business challenges into clear problem statements and solution requirements.
  • Document functional and non-functional requirements for dashboards, reports, data pipelines, and integrations.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and product managers to validate feasibility and scope.
  • Support backlog grooming, sprint planning, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

Data Understanding and Consolidation

  • Work with data teams to identify relevant data sources and assess data quality and availability.
  • Assist in requirements for data consolidation and integration across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Support data mapping, transformation, and lineage documentation.
  • Help define success metrics and performance benchmarks for reporting and data solutions.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions to gather insights and feedback.
  • Prepare and deliver clear documentation, reports, and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Proficient in adapting communication strategies to effectively engage stakeholders with diverse communication styles.

Project Support and Value Realization

  • Track progress against milestones and ensure timely delivery of business analysis artifacts.
  • Support change management and adoption efforts for new reporting and data tools.
  • Help measure and report on business impact, ROI, and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience to be Successful:

  • 3–5 years of experience in business analysis or product ownership, with exposure to analytics, reporting, or data consolidation projects.
  • Strong understanding of data management, reporting, and decision-support processes.
  • Proven track record of driving developer accountability and adherence by implementing structured accountability frameworks, and executing timely escalation protocols.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and using tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Power BI/Tableau.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related experience
  • Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, PMI-PBA) or Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and modern data integration tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Talend).
  • Familiarity with data governance and responsible AI principles.

Pay Range

$80,000 - $100,000 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
