Primary Purpose
Support Category Teams in all aspects of negotiations including strategy, tactics, prep, and execution. Through negotiations, support local brand strategies, align vendors to precise plans and leverage size/scale. Ownership and accountability of timelines and targets.
Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC , Chicago, IL, Quincy, MA, Carlisle, PA, Scarborough, ME, Hyattsville, MD and Mauldin, SC.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accountable to be the subject matter expert to assigned vendors and categories.
  • Accountable for delivering accurate, timely financial data in service of furthering the business needs (CPN negotiations, JBP conversations, etc.)
  • Develop meeting deck, coordinate, and facilitate JBP meetings with Brand leadership and key vendor partners
  • Serve as A Brands point person for Merchandising Leadership at assigned brand
  • Deliver on-time, complete and accurate playbooks in service of CPN negotiations
  • Facilitate cross brand workshops to assist the brands in developing leverage as part of CPN process
  • Develop/support insights for top to tops, FMI, executive level meetings, etc.
  • Provide insights/advanced analytical support to category teams to identify opportunities and leverage for growth, investment optimization and savings.
  • Leverage all systems (DSS, IDW, IRI, etc) efficiently and effectively to identify opportunities and insights to advance the financial results of each local Brand.
  • Partner with A Brands Director and Brands to identify opportunities within each brand and assigned categories.
  • Partner with Economist and Brands on Cost Changes (evaluation, approval / disapproval, tracking and alignment / escalation).
  • Partner with category teams on planning of East Coast Events
  • Assist in the development and facilitation of A Brands Negotiations training classes, as necessary.
  • Assist in commercial plan development and Category Planning & Negotiations.
  • Provide feedback and insights on process improvements to enhance A Brands efficiency
  • Mentor and train new analysts on sourcing processes
  • Develop and maintain an Individual Development Plan
  • Participate in continuous training as business needs dictate
  • Primary interfaces will be CM/CM+1s/CM+2s


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • 4+ years of combined experience in category, pricing, sourcing, or supply chain
  • Knowledge of applicable practies areas, i.e. Center Store categories and Vendor relationships
  • Mature level of knowledge of Brands business
  • Expericence with the following computer programs: DSS, WMS, IRI, IDW
  • Travel required up to 20% of the time


Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational, planning, communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Demonstrate an ability to implement and analyze retail business using consumer insights and analyzing trends
  • Public Speaking, Training facilitation, and meeting facilitation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint is required. Access knowledge is a plus.
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to manage day to day activity for identified responsibilities
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to lead and facilitate meetings
  • Ability to work with CM's/CM+1's and external vendor leads
  • Ability to manage own work time and priorties with aggressive timelines
