Sora Union is a globally distributed professional services company that specializes in Design, Software Engineering, QA. Our experienced talent comes from communities where there is displacement or risk of displacement due to conflict or climate change. We’re looking for a Financial Services Brand Strategist to help shape brand and go-to-market clarity for firms operating in complex, credibility-driven categories such as asset management, wealth, fintech, banking, insurance, and adjacent financial services.

This role is about translating business model complexity, market positioning, trust signals, audience expectations, and growth ambitions into a clear strategic direction that can guide messaging, design, and digital experience.

The strategist is expected to operate with fluency in regulated or credibility-sensitive environments where differentiation must be sharp, but never careless.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Lead discovery and strategic diagnosis for financial services clients
  • Analyze category dynamics, competitors, market perceptions, and audience expectations
  • Define or refine positioning, narrative, and differentiation
  • Develop messaging architectures that balance sophistication, credibility, and clarity
  • Shape website structure and content logic based on user intent and business priorities
  • Translate strategic insight into actionable guidance for design and digital teams
  • Contribute to client workshops, strategic presentations, and recommendation decks. Live presentations on a constant basis.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • A minimum of 6+ years of professional design experience.
  • Experience in brand strategy, positioning, messaging, or consulting for financial services, fintech, professional services, or complex B2B categories
  • Strong ability to work across strategy, narrative, and digital structure
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, but disciplined in turning ambiguity into systems
  • Can simplify complex businesses without flattening them
  • Understands credibility signals in conservative markets
  • Knows how to modernize without damaging trust
  • Can connect positioning to information architecture and website narrative flow
  • Produces strategic documents that are usable, not abstract
  • Strong presentation and workshop skills
  • B2 level English language proficiency or higher.

Sora Union is committed to creating and fostering a diverse team. We encourage people from underrepresented backgrounds and all walks of life to apply. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to all applicants throughout the application process.

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
