What You Will Achieve
This role requires an experienced Operational Services Lead with a strong focus on Translations Localization within the BPS PfizerWorks team who will be accountable to help stand up and lead the Global Translations Center of Excellence (COE) for managing language provisions across many areas of our business services while optimizing the COE performance against the Five points of Value (FPV). The individual will be responsible to drive global content and code strategies in a highly regulated business environment with proven experience in localization within the Life Sciences industry. The Operational Services Lead needs to have strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry terminology with experience with successfully implementing machine translation (MT), AI, terminology management, and automation in localization workflows. The Operational Services Lead will need to have an understanding on languages in terms of ability to explain what works and what does not work across languages. Additionally, strategic oversight between the vendor and business stakeholders across additional service lines would include Business Process and Administrative Support and Pfizer Systems (SAP, PLA), Training Design and Development , all key pillars of the PfizerWorks service portfolio.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $108,700.00 to $181,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Role Responsibilities
- Manage a localization program through partnering cross-functionally with business user group stakeholders (e.g. Clinical, Regulatory, Legal, Commercial, Drug safety unit, Digital teams] and other Pfizer enabling teams.
- Develop and execute a localization roadmap that integrates human and AI-driven translation solutions while ensuring compliance with Pfizer policies and FDA, EMA, and MDR or any other applicable regulations.
- Implement workflow automation and migration to a TMS, plus AI and MT technologies where appropriate to enhance efficiency while maintaining accuracy and regulatory adherence.
- Support with overseeing translation quality and regulatory compliance by working with Pfizer business user groups responsible for managing processes and standards and Language service providers
- Develop and execute a guidance strategy that assists the Pfizer colleagues with choosing the optimal translation solution for addressing their needs
- Implement workflow automation, AI, and MT technologies where appropriate in partnership with Digital to enhance efficiency while maintaining accuracy and regulatory adherence.
- Optimize workflows and processes to scale localization efforts without compromising compliance or quality.
- Define and track success metrics to measure strategic and operational localization impact and ensure continuous improvement.
- Advocate for localization best practices enterprise-wide to ensure global content and code accessibility.
- Promote Business Process and Administrative Support service line based on changes within the organization
- Identify business colleagues that require educational material development for enhancing skills.
- Collaborate with our Client Success Lead to ensure key marketing strategies are deployed in support of Operational Services.
- People Management & Development: Support with overseeing internal CoE team and outsourced vendor(s) aligned to manage and monitor all elements of the Translations CoE.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements):
- Minimum of bachelor's Business or a related discipline
- 6+ years in experience Corporate Translations roles
- Working understanding of Technology, Business Development
- Ability to build technical process flows and tools
- Strong business operations acumen. Prior experience as a SME in the Translations Service line.
- Adapt to changing priorities and comfortable in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Internationalization, Localization, Transcreation of Translations, Language Service Providers, Machine Translations & Interpreting, Translation Memory, Project Management, Operational Excellence, IT Consulting, Commercial Operations, Technology, Vendor Management.
- Proven experience in implementing and deploying a TMS and implementing localization best practices within global enterprise, healthcare, pharma, or medical device industries.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry terminology.
- Experience with successfully implementing machine translation (MT), AI, terminology management, and automation in localization workflows.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with 1) business stakeholders and digital/IT partners; 2) product and content designers and usability experts, 3) legal, regulatory, and quality assurance teams.
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive, solution-driven mindset. Ability to identify new opportunities.
- Proven leadership abilities. Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
- Language understanding. You won't be translating, but you will need to understand - and explain - what works and what does not work across languages.
