Designs and builds prototypes for wearable and non-contact physiological sensing products. Responsibilities include instrumentation circuit design, sensor performance optimization, prototype validation, circuit and mechanical debugging, manufacturing system maintenance, and collaboration on data-gathering experiments. The role supports multiple research and commercialization projects and requires strong electrical, mechanical, biomedical engineering, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
We are seeking motivated candidates with a strong interest in hardware design that shape soluations for wearable and non-contact physolical sensing systems . Successful candidates will have a background in biomedical engineering with a strong command of electrical and mechanical design skills. The candidate will work with the Hardware team at Delsys to evolve the existing product portfolio and to help deliver on rapid protypting efforts to advance research concepts toward commercialization.
Delsys embraces a cross-disciplinary approach towards engineering and is focused on developing physiological measuring solutions that fuse multi-sensing modalities, which include biopotential sensing, optical sensing, inertial sensing, force/pressure sensing, and imaging technologies. Candidates must have a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering, a proven track record of solving multi-disciplinary challenges, and must exhibit a strong ability for organized problem solving. The position will require exploratory activities to inform research projects, as well as delivering on key tasks for existing products being manufactured and in distribution. Strong communication and documentation skills are required. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated affinity for analytical thinking, pragmatic problem-solving and hands-on understanding of design processes with 2-5 years of industry experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Design and build prototypes for research projects and new product concepts.
• Explore instrumentation circuits and designs to optimize sensor performance.
• Perform a multitude of organized tasks to simultaneous advance multiple projects
• Perform validation activities on protytpe solutioinjs currently under development.
• Debug and resolve performance challenges in circuit and mechanical designs.
• Help evolve and maintain sensor manufacturing systems
• Collaborate with the engineering and research teams at Delsys for data gathering experiments, analysis, and reporting.
