Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bioinformatics Research Assistant to support ongoing translational research projects focused on gene regulation, cancer biology, and hematopoiesis. The successful candidate will assist in analyzing large-scale sequencing datasets and contribute to the development of computational tools for data interpretation and visualization.


 

Qualifications

Education
•    Bachelor’s degree (or current graduate student) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.
•    Proficiency in R, Python, or similar programming languages for data analysis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 - Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and command-line tools.
- Basic understanding of molecular biology and genomics.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Careful attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks.
- Computer literacy, including database tools.
- Ability to follow directions and exhibit professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Process and analyze next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, including RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, and related datasets.
•    Perform data cleaning, normalization, and statistical analysis.
•    Conduct differential expression and pathway enrichment analyses.
•    Integrate bioinformatics data with publicly available databases (e.g., TCGA, GEO, ENCODE).
•    Generate high-quality figures and visualizations for presentations and manuscripts.
•    Maintain organized records of analyses, scripts, and results.
•    Collaborate with wet-lab scientists to interpret computational findings in the context of experimental results.
