Backend Engineer (USA)
Location

The Job
Design, deliver and maintain a system that enables the integration of multiple Earth Observation service providers, exposes APIs, and maximizes uptime and fault tolerance.
Collaborate with product, design, and operations teams to gather requirements.
Partner with fellow engineers to architect, develop and scale the product, while keeping operational issues in mind
Mentor and support your fellow teammates.
Drive ongoing efficiency and reliability improvements that improve the quality of the systems.
What We Are Looking For:
College graduate with a STEM degree (preferably in Computer Science) with solid computer science fundamentals
At least several years of industry experience with solid software design and development skills
Experience in relational databases
Autonomy and proactivity with end-to-end ownership of any problem with minimal supervision
Comfortable managing large data sets using techniques like partitioning and sharding
Experience developing, documenting, maintaining, and integrating REST APIs
Interested in working with Python, Postgres, geospatial and temporal datasets, and image manipulation
Experience in working with automated CI/CD pipelines
Experience in working with no manual testing processes is a huge plus
Experience with Google Cloud Platform is a plus
Experience in SaaS product companies developing and supporting 24/7 services is a plus
Experience with multinational remote teams is a huge plus
Preference for early-stage projects is a plus
Interest in the Earth Observation industry is a plus
