You will focus on maximizing visibility, improving search rankings, and driving technical, content, and off-page SEO performance across product pages, blog posts, support articles, and other core site content.

This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution of SEO initiatives. You’ll work closely with content, product, engineering  and web teams to optimize site structure, content, technical SEO, and backlink strategy.

The Role

Technical SEO & Site Performance

  • Optimize site structure, indexation, canonicalization, XML sitemaps, and robots directives to maximize search engine visibility.
Design, implement, and validate schema and structured data (FAQ, Product, Article) to improve rich results and AI discoverability.
Develop automated workflows and dashboards to monitor SEO performance, validate technical and content updates, and ensure consistency across pages at scale.
  • Collaborate across teams to embed SEO best practices into content creation, product launches, and web QA.

Content Optimization

  • Conduct competitive research and keyword analysis to uncover growth opportunities.
  • Lead SEO optimization for product pages, blogs, support articles, and other core content.
  • Analyze SEO performance metrics (traffic, rankings, crawl health) and deliver actionable recommendations.
Align strategies with the B2C SEO team to ensure consistency across slice.com and slicelife.com.
  • Stay current on algorithm updates, AI/LLM search trends, and emerging SEO technologies, adjusting strategy as needed.
  • Translate SEO performance into clear, goal-oriented business insights that resonate with executives and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Regularly report on visibility, rankings, and site performance in simple terms that connect SEO initiatives to business outcomes.

Backlink Strategy & Off-Page SEO

  • Develop and execute a B2B link-building strategy to acquire high-quality, relevant backlinks.
  • In collaboration with the content team, identify partnership, guest posting, and industry outreach opportunities to strengthen domain authority.
  • Monitor backlink profile health and disavow toxic links as needed.
  • Collaborate with the content team to create link-worthy assets and campaigns.

The Winning Recipe

We’re looking for a creative, entrepreneurial B2B SEO Manager. These are the core competencies this role calls for:

  • 5+ years of SEO experience with a proven record of driving measurable organic growth
  • Strong communicator able to distill complex SEO data into straightforward business language for executives, sales leaders, and cross-functional partners

  • Deep expertise in technical SEO, site architecture, crawl optimization, indexation, and schema

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
