The transportation industry has no shortage of complex problems requiring creative solutions to scale efficiently. In this role, you will be responsible for building and growing Mastery's expansive cloud footprint and developing disaster recovery solutions. You will also work closely with Mastery's software engineering teams to guide and support them as they build out complex software solutions.

Our customers - large transportation companies and shippers who need those companies - have struggled with systems that are outdated or inadequate. As shippers or transportation service providers, our customers have in the past been forced to use multiple systems to manage dedicated fleet operations, outsourced or insourced trans management, one way trucking, truckload brokerage, LTL, and Intermodal, or to sub-optimize one or more of those functions by attempting to fit it into a TMS that is adequate at another function.

In this role, you will be responsible for building and growing Mastery's expansive cloud footprint and developing disaster recovery solutions. You will also work closely with Mastery's software engineering teams to guide and support them as they build out complex software solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance, and support to software engineering teams on cloud technology adoption and usage
- Adopt and determine reference architectures and implementations using cloud technologies
- Solve complex technical issues involving multiple technology stacks
- Provide documentation and training to other Engineering stakeholders
- Collaborate with compliance and security teams to ensure optimal configuration of cloud infrastructure in accordance with security best practices
- Help to design highly resilient and available cloud architectures using proven cloud frameworks and tools
- Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for performance improvements and cost saving measures
Requirements:
- Some experience with cloud automation and scripting (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible)
- Some experience with cloud-based concepts for building highly available and fault tolerant architectures
- Some experience with continuous integration, delivery, desired state processes tools and constraints
- A basic understanding of Cloud Security, specifically IAM Roles & RBAC Polices
- Some experience with development on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience in at least one programming language (python preferred)
Nice to Have:
- Preferred AWS, Azure, GCP cloud computing certifications or equivalent coursework
- Some experience with SQL and RDBMS, NoSQL technologies a plus
- Some experience in containerization and management tools such as Kubernetes or Docker Swarm
