Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer with expertise in Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to support the cloud infrastructure needs of our legal operations. The ideal candidate will have experience deploying secure, compliant, and scalable cloud environments tailored to the legal industry, including Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD), Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365, and Entra ID for identity and device compliance management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage secure cloud infrastructure on Azure and AWS to support legal case management systems, e-discovery platforms, and document management solutions.
- Deploy and maintain Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) environments for attorneys and legal staff.
- Manage Microsoft Intune for mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM), ensuring device compliance and secure access to legal data.
- Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive with a focus on legal collaboration and data retention policies.
- Configure and manage Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) for identity governance, conditional access, and secure authentication.
- Conduct cloud cost analysis and implement cost-saving strategies using Azure Cost Management, AWS Cost Explorer, and FinOps best practices.
- Ensure compliance with legal industry regulations such as HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001, and ABA cybersecurity guidelines.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, ARM templates, CloudFormation, or Bicep.
- Monitor cloud environments for performance, security, and availability using Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, and third-party tools.

- Monitoring & Logging: Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, Log Analytics, Prometheus, Grafana
- Networking: VNet, VPC, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Route 53, NSGs, Load Balancers
- Security & Compliance: Azure AD, IAM, Key Vault, Security Center, AWS IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, HIPAA/GDPR/ISO 27001 compliance
- Cost Management: Azure Cost Management, AWS Cost Explorer, Budgets, Trusted Advisor
- Legal Tech Integration: Experience with legal software platforms (e.g., Filevine, Litify) is a plus
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty
- Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) – a plus
- ITIL V.4

- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and IT staff

Physical Requirements:
- Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
- Stationary Position – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Move or Traverse – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc. May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area.
- Dexterity – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.
- Move, Transport, Position, Put, Install, Remove - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.
- Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information - The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
